The JP ACC TR039 reduces the sweep between closed and wide open on the Scrambler 1200XC, which is the movement a rider makes most often and thinks about least.

Spoked Wheels and Long Travel
The XC takes the 1200 twin properly off tarmac with a nineteen inch front and serious suspension. The riding position puts the hands high and the wrists at an angle.
Not a Power Part
Nothing about the engine changes. The same opening produces the same air, and the only difference is how far the hand has to travel to ask for it.
The Return Spring
It has to close the throttle reliably every time, which is why the spring rate is chosen with the shorter travel rather than carried over from the original.
Cable Feel Without a Cable
The intent stated by the manufacturer is the weight and progression of a cable throttle. Electronics removed that feel and this is an attempt to give it back.
Rain
Less rotation for the same opening means less margin for a cold, wet hand. The riding mode helps; the mechanical ratio does not change with weather.
Adventure Bikes
The tall models in this list spend time on gravel, and a sensitive throttle standing on the pegs is a different proposition from a sensitive throttle on a circuit.
No Software Involved
Nothing is flashed and no parameter edited. The only electronic step is teaching the controller where closed now sits.
Storing What Comes Off
Plastic will not corrode but the connector will. The standard assembly belongs in a labelled bag on a dry shelf with its fasteners, kept with the motorcycle. A reversible change is only reversible if somebody can find the parts.
After Fitting Different Bars
A change of handlebar moves the switch block and can change the room the assembly has. Measuring before ordering is five minutes; discovering it with the old assembly already off is an evening.
