Der günstige Weg auf die Rennstrecke
Eine gebrauchte GSR750 kostet weniger als ein ordentliches Fahrwerk für etwas Neueres, und sie trägt einen entschärften K5-GSX-R-Motor, der Streckeneinsatz klaglos verkraftet. Diese Kombination hat sie zu einem verbreiteten ersten Streckenmotorrad gemacht, und die Vorbereitung folgt der Standardliste: Lichter raus, Spiegel ab, Ständer weg, Sicherungsdraht rein.
Ein Punkt der technischen Abnahme
Die meisten Clubreglements verlangen den Ausbau statt Hochklappen und Abkleben, weil ein Ständer, der mitten in einer Kurve ausklappt, genau der Vorfall ist, den die Regel verhindern soll. Ist er einmal ab, startet das Motorrad ohne dieses Teil nicht — eine unschöne Entdeckung am Morgen einer Veranstaltung.
Auch nackte Motorräder werden ausgezogen
An einer GSR gibt es weniger abzunehmen als an einem verkleideten Motorrad, was bedeutet, dass die Teile, die doch heruntergehen, einen größeren Anteil am Ganzen ausmachen. Ständer, Halter, Feder und Schalter sind zusammen mehr, als man erwartet, bis sie auf der Werkbank liegen.
