Ein Sportmotorrad aus einem Zweizylinder
Yamaha setzte den MT-07-Motor in eine Stummellenker-Verkleidung. Die 270-Grad-Kurbelwelle gibt ihr einen Charakter, den kein Reihenvierzylinder der Klasse erreicht.
Last und Drehzahl
Diese beiden Achsen definieren jeden Betriebspunkt, den ein Motor je erreicht. Ein Kennfeld mit genügend Feldern beschreibt das Ganze, und genau das bedeutet vollständige Steuerung des Kennfelds.
Feld für Feld
Ernsthaftes Abstimmen bedeutet, den Motor bei einer Last und einer Drehzahl zu halten, das Gemisch abzulesen und genau dieses Feld zu korrigieren. Das ist langsame, methodische Arbeit, und es gibt keine Abkürzung.
Filter und Luftfilterkästen
Ein offener Filter verändert die gesamte Kennfeldfläche statt nur eines Bereichs. Wer einen montiert, sollte eine Abstimmsitzung erwarten, keine kleine Korrektur.
Bei einer Rennveranstaltung
Die Bedingungen ändern sich zwischen Training und Rennen. Ein programmierbares Steuergerät lässt das Kennfeld mitwandern, und genau das ist das ganze Argument für dieses Gerät gegenüber einer festen Kurve.
Das leere Kennfeld
Jedes Feld auf null, das Motorrad läuft mit seiner Werksabstimmung, und nichts wird geändert, bis der Besitzer anders entscheidet. Es ist der sicherste Ausgangszustand, den ein Tuning-Produkt bieten kann.
Auf einem Rennstreckenmotorrad
Der klarste Fall. Kein Katalysator, eine komplette Anlage, ein bekannter Kraftstoff und ein Fahrer, der jeden Teil des Kennfelds durchläuft. Dafür wurde dieses Steuergerät entworfen.
Zulassung und Gesetz
Die Kraftstoffversorgung ist in den meisten europäischen Märkten Teil der Emissionszulassung. Ein verändertes Gemisch bringt die Maschine außerhalb ihres zugelassenen Zustands, und das ist eine Frage der jeweiligen Vorschriften vor Ort.
