Der kleine unverkleidete Twin
Yamahas 321-cm³-Twin ohne Vollverkleidung, gedacht für Fahrer mit Führerscheinbeschränkung und auf Laufruhe statt auf Spannung abgestimmt.
Zwei Auspuffanlagen, zwei Karten
Ein Besitzer, der werktags einen Straßen-Endschalldämpfer und am Wochenende einen Renntopf fährt, kann beide Karten auf dem Laptop vorhalten und jeweils die schreiben, die das Motorrad braucht.
Änderungen dokumentieren
Die Karte vor jeder Sitzung mit einem Datum im Dateinamen speichern. Wer schon einmal drei Abende Arbeit an eine ungespeicherte Änderung verloren hat, macht das nur einmal.
Das serienmäßige Steuergerät wacht weiter
Seine Schutzfunktionen, sein Begrenzer und seine Fahrerassistenzsysteme arbeiten weiter wie bisher. Die zusätzliche Karte deaktiviert nichts, was das Werk eingebaut hat.
Ein realistischer Zeitplan
Ein Abend für Einbau und Verständnis, ein Tag für ein brauchbares Ergebnis, eine Saison für die Feinabstimmung. Dazu verpflichtet sich ein Besitzer, der eine leere Karte kauft.
Der faire Vergleich
Gegenüber einem vollständigen Remap ist dieses Steuergerät enger begrenzt und reversibel. Gegenüber dem vorkonfigurierten Modul ist es leistungsfähiger und arbeitsaufwendiger. Es steht bewusst zwischen beiden.
Vor der ersten Änderung
Das Motorrad mit leerer Karte fahren und aufschreiben, was stört. Diese Liste ist mehr wert als jede Theorie darüber, wo eine Werkskarte zu magere Zonen hat.
Zwei Motorräder, ein Steuergerät
Nicht praktikabel. Der Kabelbaum ist modellspezifisch, und die Karte gehört zu einer Konfiguration – das Steuergerät zwischen Maschinen zu wechseln bedeutet einen neuen Kabelbaum und eine neue Karte.
Die Kosten der gesamten Ausstattung
Das Steuergerät, eine Breitbandsonde und ein in den Auspuff geschweißter Stutzen. Zusammen kosten sie weniger als ein guter Endschalldämpfer, und ohne die Sonde ist das Steuergerät ein Schmuckstück mit USB-Buchse.
