Ein Einundzwanzig-Zoll-Vorderrad
Ducati hat um den 937-cm³-Zweizylinder ein echtes Adventure-Motorrad gebaut, mit einem langhubigen Fahrwerk und einem für losen Untergrund abgemilderten Kraftstoffkennfeld.
Die Original-Elektronik bleibt unangetastet
Zündzeitpunkt, Drehzahlbegrenzer, Traktionskontrolle und jeder Fahrmodus bleiben beim serienmäßigen Steuergerät. Dieses Gerät verwaltet nur die Kraftstoffmenge und hat auf nichts anderes Zugriff.
Die Referenzfahrt
Das Motorrad mit leerem Kennfeld fahren und notieren, wo es zögert, ruckt oder flach wirkt. Diese Liste ist die Vorgabe für die erste Abstimmungssitzung.
Die Zellen, auf die es ankommt
Konstantfahrt, kleine Öffnungswinkel und der erste Teil des Gasbereichs. Hier findet der Großteil des Fahrens statt, und hier liegt auch der Großteil der spürbaren Verbesserung.
Warum überhaupt programmierbar
Weil keine zwei veränderten Motorräder gleich sind. Ein anderer Schalldämpfer, ein anderer Filter und ein anderes Klima erzeugen jeweils andere Anforderungen, und nur ein Kennfeld kann allen drei folgen.
Wie sich ein schlechtes Kennfeld anfühlt
Rucken zwischen den Betriebspunkten, ein Loch, das sich verschiebt statt zu verschwinden, und ein Motor, der sich in zwei identischen Kurven unterschiedlich verhält.
Kein Leistungsprodukt
Der Leistungswert bewegt sich kaum. Was sich ändert, ist, dass der Motor überall saubar liefert, was er hat, und das ist auf der Straße mehr wert als eine Zahl auf einem Blatt.
Was niemand erwähnt
Der größte Teil der Arbeit ist nicht die Abstimmung selbst. Es ist die Montage einer Breitbandsonde, das Finden einer ruhigen Straße, das Erlernen der Software und der Aufbau einer Routine, die vergleichbare Messungen liefert.
