Ein Retro-Einzylinder
Benellis 374-cm³-Einzylinder ist so gebaut, dass er wie aus den Neunzehnfünfzigern aussieht und ebenso unkompliziert im Umgang ist. Nichts an ihm hat es eilig.
Nichts ist gesperrt
Es gibt keinen Händlercode, kein Abonnement und keine Begrenzung, wie oft das Kennfeld neu geschrieben wird. Das Gerät gehört dem, der es besitzt – das ist nicht bei jedem Tuningprodukt so.
Reversibilität in der Praxis
Die Original-Stecker lassen sich in wenigen Minuten wieder verbinden, und es wurde nichts ins Motorrad geschrieben. Das zählt beim Service, beim Verkauf und bei jeder Diagnose.
Umgebungsbedingungen
Ein an einem kalten Morgen erstelltes Kennfeld ist an einem heißen Nachmittag etwas zu fett. Das Serien-Steuergerät gleicht das meiste davon aus, der Rest ist der Preis eines festen Kennfelds.
Die Serien-Sonde reicht nicht
Eine Schmalband-Lambdasonde meldet nur Werte nahe Stöchiometrie. Sie sagt nichts darüber, was das Gemisch bei Volllast tut – genau dort, wo man es wissen muss.
Rennkraftstoff braucht ein eigenes Kennfeld
Eine andere Octanzahl und ein anderer Energiegehalt verändern die Anforderung. Zwei klar benannte Dateien und die Disziplin, vor der Session die richtige zu schreiben.
Kaltstart
Die Warmlaufanfettung ist Aufgabe des Serien-Steuergeräts. Ein Kennfeld lässt sich für einen kalten Motor anpassen, aber die grundlegende Strategie bleibt nicht diesem Gerät überlassen.
Entfernung des Katalysators
Der Ausbau des Katalysators verändert den Gegendruck und entfernt eine Komponente, mit der das Werkskennfeld gerechnet hat. Das ist einer der stärksten Gründe, überhaupt ein programmierbares Steuergerät zu betreiben.
Dokumentation der Konfiguration
Welcher Auspuff, welcher Filter, welcher Kraftstoff und welche Kennfelddatei. Dieser Vermerk macht ein Kennfeld in der nächsten Saison wiederverwendbar – und ohne ihn ist es wertlos.
