Homologationsstückzahlen
Die RF wurde in den von der Superbike-WM geforderten Stückzahlen gebaut, mit der Hardware der Factory und einer Abstimmung, die von einem folgenden Auspuff und Filter ausgeht.
Vollständig reversibel
Das Steuergerät abziehen und das Motorrad ist serienmäßig. Am Originalsteuergerät wurde zu keinem Zeitpunkt etwas geschrieben – der strukturelle Vorteil, den dieses Modell mit dem günstigeren Modul teilt.
Eine reine Rennstreckenmaschine
Der klarste Anwendungsfall für dieses Steuergerät. Ein Motorrad mit kompletter Auspuffanlage, ohne Katalysator und mit bekanntem Kraftstoff ist genau die Situation, in der ein Werkskennfeld am wenigsten nützt.
Immer in kleinen Schritten
Drei Prozent auf einmal. Ein Motor reagiert darauf deutlich genug, um es zu beurteilen, aber nicht so heftig, dass ein Fehler teuer wird.
Austausch unter Besitzern
Ein Kennfeld von einer baugleichen Maschine ist ein lohnender Ausgangspunkt und ein Endpunkt, den man vermeiden sollte. Motoren, Sensoren und Auspuffanlagen unterscheiden sich stets ein wenig.
Wetter
Ein kalt entwickeltes Kennfeld läuft bei Hitze etwas fett. Das Serien-Steuergerät gleicht das meiste davon aus; der Rest ist der akzeptierte Preis eines festen Kennfelds.
Gebrauchtkauf
Das Steuergerät wandert zwischen baugleichen Motorrädern, weil nichts darin an eine einzelne Maschine gebunden ist. Der Kabelbaum muss passen, nicht die Box.
Schaltet nichts ab
Das Steuergerät schaltet nichts ab. Es arbeitet neben den serienmäßigen Strategien statt um sie herum, weshalb der Fehlerspeicher sauber bleibt.
Zwei Konfigurationen, zwei Dateien
Straßendämpfer und Renntopf, bleifreies Benzin und Rennkraftstoff, Sommer und Winter. Jede Kombination verdient ihr eigenes Kennfeld, und das Umschalten dauert weniger als eine Minute, wenn sie erst einmal existieren.
