The JP CJP 072H is the more capable and more demanding of JetPrime's two fuel units for the 990RC R, and it does nothing at all without a wideband and some patience.

Clip-Ons and Bodywork
KTM put a fairing on the middleweight twin, which drops the wrists and changes what the rider asks of the engine on a corner exit.
Small Steps
Two or three percent at a time in the cells being worked on. Large jumps produce an engine that surges between operating points and tell the mapper nothing useful.
Two Owners, One Bike
The map lives in the unit, not in the rider. Anybody who rides the motorcycle gets whatever was last written, which is worth remembering on a shared machine.
Small Increments, Always
Three percent at a time. An engine responds to that clearly enough to judge and not so violently that a mistake is expensive.
The Grid on Screen
Revs across, load down, a number in every cell. Anybody who has seen a mapping program will recognise it immediately and anybody who has not will need an evening.
Firmware Updates
Occasional and delivered through the same software. Apply them before starting a long project rather than halfway through one.
Not a Power Product
The output figure barely moves. What changes is that the engine delivers what it has cleanly everywhere, which is worth more on a road than a number on a sheet.
Idle
Usually left alone. The standard controller manages idle with its own strategy and mapping around it creates more problems than it solves.
The Wideband Bung
Most aftermarket exhausts have a spare boss or can take one welded in. Planning that before the exhaust is fitted saves taking it off again, which is the sort of thing nobody thinks about in advance.
