Der JP MJ 018 ist die einfachere von JetPrimes zwei Benzineinheiten für die CB1100: eine Kurve, die jemand anderes ausgearbeitet hat, statt einer, die der Besitzer selbst entwickeln muss.

Bewusst luftgekühlt
Honda baute die CB1100 mit Kühlrippen in einer Zeit, in der das sonst niemand mehr tat, und stimmte sie so ab, dass sie sich wie die Motorräder anfühlte, die sie nachahmte.
Zweihundert Gramm
Das Modul wiegt etwa so viel wie ein Mobiltelefon, und der Kabelbaum kommt kaum hinzu. Dieses Bauteil kauft oder meidet niemand wegen seines Gewichts.
Plug-and-Play, wörtlich genommen
Der Kabelbaum endet in den Steckern, die das Motorrad bereits verwendet. Sie werden getrennt, das Modul kommt dazwischen, und sie werden wieder geschlossen. Niemand braucht einen Schaltplan, niemand muss Isolierung abziehen.
Wo der Unterschied am größten ausfällt
Eine ältere eingespritzte Maschine mit Nachrüstauspuff, zügig auf der Straße gefahren. In dieser Kombination entfernt sich das Serien-Gemisch am weitesten von dem, was der Motor jetzt braucht.
Physisch klein
Etwa in der Größe einer Streichholzschachtel und rund zweihundert Gramm. Bei einem Motorrad ist nie das Modul selbst das Problem, sondern nur, einen ordentlichen Weg für das Kabel zu finden.
Die Stecker erledigen die Arbeit
Ein Kabelbaum mit den passenden, bereits angeformten Steckern macht daraus eine Zwanzig-Minuten-Aufgabe statt eines Nachmittags mit Lötkolben und Schaltplan.
Eine sinnvolle erste Modifikation
Es kostet weniger als ein Reifensatz, dauert einen Abend und lässt sich vollständig rückgängig machen. Als Einstieg in das Modifizieren eines eingespritzten Motorrads gibt es erheblich schlechtere Ausgangspunkte.
Der Abgaszyklus in der Praxis
Der Test läuft bei festgelegten Drehzahlen und Lasten, und Hersteller widmen genau diesen Zellen naturgemäß die meiste Aufmerksamkeit. Ein Fahrer, der viel Zeit genau in diesen Zellen verbringt, spürt den Kompromiss am stärksten.
