Der neue verkleidete Zweizylinder
Suzukis Reihenzweizylinder mit 776 cm³ in sportlicher Verkleidung, gedacht für Fahrer, die ein alltagstaugliches Sportmotorrad wollen statt eines entschärften Superbikes.
Dreihundertfünfzig Gramm
Das ist die Herstellerangabe für das, was von der oberen Gabelbrücke wegfällt. Es ist eine kleine Zahl an einer Stelle, an der Masse mehr zählt als an den meisten anderen.
Montage bei eingebauter Gabelbrücke
Am Vorderbau muss nichts zerlegt werden. Der Block wird von oben abgeschraubt, und der neue kommt in dieselben Bohrungen.
Das Original kommt in einen Beutel
Schließzylinder, Schlüssel, Halter und Stecker gehören zusammen. Der Rückbau dauert zwanzig Minuten und braucht alle vier.
Was wohin gesteckt wird
Der fahrzeugeigene Zündschlossstecker wird unverändert am neuen Gehäuse angeschlossen. Nirgends wird ein Kabel abisoliert, verbunden oder verlängert.
Eine sichtbare Veränderung
Die Taste sitzt mitten im Cockpit, genau dort, wohin der Fahrer schaut. Das ist einer der Gründe, warum Besitzer sie kaufen, und es hat keinen Sinn, etwas anderes zu behaupten.
Warum Ergal
Es lässt sich sauber fräsen und gut eloxieren und steckt einen Stoß weg, ohne sich zu verformen. Bei einem Teil, das an eine Gabelbrücke geschraubt ist, an die man sich anlehnt, zählt das.
Ein Jahrzehnt im Einsatz
Innen gibt es nichts, was verschleißen, und außen nichts, was korrodieren kann. Richtig montiert überdauert es das meiste, was es am Motorrad umgibt.
Das Gewichtsargument, fair betrachtet
Dreihundertfünfzig Gramm sind eine echte Zahl an einer guten Stelle, aber nicht der Grund, warum die meisten dieses Teil kaufen. Das ist die schlüssellose Bedienung.
Masse am Lenkkopf
Gewicht über der Gabelbrücke arbeitet in jeder Kurve zweimal gegen den Fahrer: einmal beim Einlenken und einmal beim Aufrichten. Dreihundertfünfzig Gramm sind dort deutlich mehr wert als dieselbe Menge, die unter der Sitzbank eingespart wird.
