Die 1199er-Generation hat den Namen Panigale groß gemacht, und ein gutes Jahrzehnt später sind viele davon keine Straßenmotorräder mehr. Sobald eine 1199 zwischen Trackdays auf dem Hänger und in der Garage lebt, hat der Zündschlosszylinder keine Aufgabe mehr — er ist 350 g Stahl und Kunststoff an der Stelle des Fahrwerks, an der Masse am meisten kostet. Der JP KS DU005 nimmt ihn weg.

Ein Teil, drei Varianten
Ducati änderte zwischen 1199, 1199 S und 1199 R Fahrwerk, Räder und Elektronik — die Zündschlossaufnahme und der Steckverbinder blieben über alle drei gleich. Deshalb deckt eine einzige JetPrime-Artikelnummer die Familie ab. Das ist praktisch relevant: Ein Taster, der für eine Basis-1199 gekauft wurde, wandert ohne Änderung auf eine R, wenn das Motorrad in der Garage wechselt.
Alltag an einem Hängermotorrad
Die meisten 1199, die diesen Taster bekommen, sind nicht mehr zugelassen — und das ändert, worauf es ankommt. Ohne Zylinder gibt es nichts, was im Fahrerlager aufgebrochen werden kann, nichts, was über den Winter festgeht, und nichts, aus dem man mit klammen Fingern vor dem Turn einen Schlüssel fischen muss. Die Key Box kann unter der Sitzbank verzurrt und vergessen werden. Geht das Motorrad je zurück auf die Straße, ist die Serienbaugruppe an einem Nachmittag wieder montiert.
