Carbon und Datenlogger
Die M wird in limitierter Stückzahl mit semiaktivem Öhlins-Fahrwerk und Datenlogger ab Werk gebaut. Sie wird an Leute verkauft, die aufzeichnen, was sie auf der Rennstrecke getan haben.
Das Lenkschloss entfällt
Mit dem Ausbau des Zylinders entfällt auch das Schloss. Bei einem Straßenmotorrad spielt das eine Rolle; bei einer Maschine im Transporter zwischen zwei Rennstrecken nicht.
Warum Rennmaschinen es verlieren
Ein Motorrad, das im Transporter und in der Garage lebt, hat nichts, was gestohlen werden könnte, und niemanden, der auf einen Schlüssel wartet. Das Schloss ist Masse und Komplikation.
Wie der Motor abgestellt wird
Der Knopf unterbricht den Zündkreis genau so, wie es das Drehen des Schlüssels auf Aus getan hat. An der Art, wie der Motor abgestellt wird, ändert sich nichts.
Montagezeit
Zwanzig Minuten bei den meisten Modellen, länger, wo der Kabelbaum unter dem Tank liegt. Für die Arbeit muss das Vorderteil nicht zerlegt werden.
Die Schutzklasse erklärt
IP69K ist der Standard für die Beständigkeit gegen heißes Wasser unter hohem Druck aus kurzer Distanz. Er existiert für Lebensmittelmaschinen und passt ebenso gut zu einem Schlauch im Fahrerlager.
Die Platte folgt der Gabelbrücke
Form, Bohrungsabstand und Stärke gehören alle zu einem einzigen Motorrad. Ein Teil eines anderen Modells sitzt nicht plan und sollte nicht mit Gewalt eingepasst werden.
Position an der Gabelbrücke
Das neue Gehäuse belegt dieselbe Fläche, sodass Tank, obere Gabelbrücke und Instrumente ihre Beziehung zueinander behalten.
Keine Einstellung
Nichts wird geschraubt im Sinne einer Einstellung, nichts unterlegt und nichts justiert. Es wird in die Löcher geschraubt, die der Block genutzt hat, und funktioniert vom ersten Druck an.
Auf die teure Art gefertigt
Ein aus massivem Ergal gefrästes Gehäuse, eloxiert statt lackiert, ein Schalter mit einer für industrielle Reinigung geschriebenen Schutzklasse und eine für ein Motorrad gezeichnete Platte. Nichts davon ist für einen Knopf notwendig, und all das ist der Grund, warum dieser hier hält.
