DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ESR 001 answers for the Tuono V4 1100 Factory's fork actuators once conventional cartridges are fitted.
Key Features
- Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory (2019–2026)
- Answers for the front fork actuators
- No suspension warning on the panel
- Plugs into Aprilia's own connectors
- For a conversion to conventional cartridges
- Standard forks refit at any time
The Front End the Factory Carries
Electronically managed Öhlins forks with a solenoid valve in each leg. On a naked bike they work harder than on a faired one because the rider moves around far more.
Which Is Also the Argument for Removing Them
A rider who has settled on one position and one circuit wants a curve that repeats. Variable damping is a road bike's advantage and a race bike's uncertainty.
Coil Continuity
The suspension module measures both valves at every start. With the actuators gone it reports a fault and the warning stays on the panel.
The Load It Expects
This unit presents it from both legs, so the check passes and nothing is stored for later. Everything else on the motorcycle carries on unchanged.
Two Hundred and Nine Kilograms
Kerb weight with a full tank, carrying a superbike engine and a chassis to match. The Tuono has never been light and it disguises the mass unusually well.
Cruise Control Stays
The engine electronics and the suspension module are separate systems sharing a display. Nothing in the rider aids depends on the fork actuators.
Worth Keeping
The standard forks are expensive and desirable. Nothing about this conversion damages them and they refit whenever the bike goes back to the road.
Nothing Cut
Aprilia's own connectors at both legs, no adapters and no splices anywhere.
Reversible
Unplug the eliminator, refit the standard forks and the semi-active system works as it did.
Think It Through
On a road-registered naked bike, electronically managed damping earns its place. This is a competition modification.
The 2021 Frame
Aprilia moved the Tuono onto the current RSV4 chassis, which changed how much the suspension has to absorb and how precisely it can be set. A conversion of this kind makes considerably more sense on the later bike than it did on the one before it.
