DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ESR 006 lets the Panigale V4 S run a mechanical steering damper without the warning that follows the moment the original unit's connector is pulled apart.

- Answers the electronic steering damper circuit
- No warning on the instrument panel
- Plugs into Ducati's own connector

The Suspension Comes Off Anyway
A serious race build replaces even Öhlins semi-active units with mechanical ones, because a fixed curve repeats and an adaptive one does not.
What the Electronic Damper Does
It varies its resistance with road speed, staying light for low-speed manoeuvring and firming up as the front wheel gets busy. A solenoid inside the unit does the varying and the controller does the deciding.
Nothing Else Changes
Traction control, the engine maps, the quickshifter and the wheelie control are untouched. This part speaks to one circuit and stops there.
Not a Handling Change
The eliminator does nothing for the way the motorcycle steers. The mechanical damper does that, and this part exists so the swap leaves no warning behind it.
Sealed Against Spray
Behind the fairing is wetter than it looks once a motorcycle has been through a winter. A potted body is what survives that rather than a crimped one.
Inside the Expected Window
The eliminator presents a resistance consistent with a healthy solenoid. Nothing is generated, intercepted or simulated beyond that single value.
The Eliminator's Job
To present the winding resistance the controller expects, potted into a body carrying Ducati's own connector so the harness stays exactly as it was.
The Circuit Is Checked at Every Start
The controller measures the solenoid before the motorcycle has moved, so an empty connector produces a warning the first time the key is turned. That is why the eliminator is fitted at the same time as the damper rather than being ordered afterwards.
