Ein ungewöhnlicher Umbau an einem Tourer
Schnellgasgriffe werden mit Rennstrecken und Enduro-Fahren assoziiert, und ein 150-PS-Reiseenduro ist keines von beiden. Die Überschneidung entsteht, weil Fahrer, die eine 1190 auf anspruchsvollen Straßen hart bewegen, den serienmäßigen Weg als länger empfinden, als es die Reaktionen des Motors rechtfertigen.
Was der LC8 liefert
Ein 75-Grad-V2 mit 150 PS und einer Drehmomentkurve, die sofort einsetzt. Bei einem solchen Motor fällt die Verzögerung zwischen Handgelenk und Reaktion deutlicher auf als bei einem spitzen Vierzylinder, was das praktische Argument dafür ist, sie zu verkürzen.
Der Schalterblock wandert mit
KTM integriert die rechten Bedienelemente in die Gasgriff-Baugruppe, sodass das Entfernen des einen das andere mitnimmt. Diese Einheit stellt Anlasser- und Notausfunktionen auf einer unabhängigen Lenkerschelle über den eigenen Stecker des Motorrads wieder her.
Positioniert für den langen Tag
Auf einem Motorrad, das stundenlang am Stück gefahren wird, ist die Lage des Schalters eine Komfortfrage und kein Detail. Eine lenkermontierte Einheit lässt sich dorthin schieben und drehen, wo der Daumen bei entspanntem Handgelenk ruht, statt dort, wo das Griffrohr endet.
Tempomat unberührt
Nur die Bedienelemente auf der Gasgriffseite wandern. Tempomat, Fahrmodi und die Display-Navigation am linken Bedienfeld funktionieren alle weiter exakt wie zuvor, und das Steuergerät sieht keine Veränderung irgendeiner Art.
Abgedichtet gegen Witterung
Kontakte nach Militärspezifikation in einem gefrästen Gehäuse. Ein Reiseenduro wird auch bei schlechtem Wetter genutzt, und die Abdichtung entscheidet, ob sich die Bedienelemente am Ende einer nassen Woche gleich verhalten.
Titanfarben
Eine Oberfläche. In einem Cockpit, das bereits Schutzbügel, eine Navigationshalterung und oft Zusatzschalter trägt, kennzeichnet sie das Bauteil als beabsichtigt, ohne die visuelle Unruhe zu vergrößern.
