Honda hat der CBR600RR 2024 eine neue Verkleidung mit aerodynamischen Winglets gegeben und nennt mit einem cW-Wert von 0,555 den niedrigsten seiner Klasse. H25210AP ersetzt deren Vorderteil für den Rennsport: eine geschlossene Maske ohne Lichtausschnitte, von vier Dzus-Vierteldrehverschlüssen gehalten, in Avio Fibre Prepreg geformt.

Was Avio Fibre Prepreg ist
Carbonin fertigt in drei Materialstufen, und dies ist die mittlere. Gewöhnliches Avio Fibre ist hochwertige Glasfaser, an Kanten und Befestigungspunkten mit Carbon verstärkt, handlaminiert und in weißem Gelcoat ausgeliefert: zäh, nachgiebig und nach einem Sturz günstig zu ersetzen. Carbon ist leichter und steifer, aber spröder und deutlich teurer. Die Prepreg-Variante nimmt dieselbe Avio-Fibre-Verstärkung und verarbeitet sie so, wie die Carbonteile verarbeitet werden — vorimprägniertes Gewebe, unter Autoklavdruck konsolidiert. Das hebt Steifigkeit und Maßhaltigkeit, ohne beim Preis bis zum Carbon zu gehen. Für eine 600er, die ihr Leben zwischen Stürzen und Wiederaufbauten verbringt, ist das ein sinnvoller Platz.
Vier Verschlüsse statt vierzehn
Die Serienfront hält eine Ansammlung von Schrauben und Kunststoffnieten, ihr Abbau kostet geduldige zehn Minuten. Diese hier hat vier Verschlüsse und ist in unter einer Minute ab, was verändert, was zwischen zwei Sitzungen realistisch ist: den Lenkungsdämpfer prüfen, an den Kabelbaum hinter dem Cockpit kommen oder den Vorderbau einfach öffnen, um nachzusehen, wird zu etwas, das man tut statt aufschiebt.
