Yamaha hat der Serien-R9 funktionale Winglets gegeben und beziffert, was sie bringen: sechs bis sieben Prozent weniger Auftrieb vorn auf der Geraden, in Schräglage bis zu zehn Prozent. CY20237 führt diesen Gedanken im Rennsport fort — ein Carbonflügel an der linken Flanke, weiter hinten in der Strömung als die Serienelemente an der Nase.

Front und Flanke haben verschiedene Aufgaben
Die Serien-Winglets sitzen unter den Scheinwerfern, ganz vorn, wo sie fast unmittelbar auf das Vorderrad wirken und sich als weniger Auftrieb beim Beschleunigen und als ruhigere Lenkung über eine Kuppe bemerkbar machen. Ein Element an der Flanke sitzt hinter der Maske, in bereits umgelenkter Luft, und sein Beitrag zeigt sich eher als Stabilität denn als Last auf dem Vorderreifen. Keines ersetzt das andere; am Rennmotorrad werden sie zusammen gefahren, weshalb Rennmaske und Flankenflügel als Satz gedacht sind.
Carbon statt Druck
Carbonin fertigt manche Flügel additiv und formt andere. Dieser ist geformt, was eine praktische Folge hat: Er nimmt Lack genauso an wie die Flanken, an denen er anliegt, ohne dass zuvor Schichtstufen gefüllt werden müssten. Für ein Motorrad in vollem Design entfällt damit ein Arbeitsschritt beim Lackierer.

Für die Yamaha R9, 2024 bis 2026, am Teil CY20231. Der rechte Flügel ist CY20239.
Straßenzulassung
Es liegt kein Zulassungsdokument bei. Aerodynamische Anbauteile dieser Art sind ein Rennsportzubehör.
