Eine Abdeckung mit Sicherheitsaufgabe
Batteriepole in einem offenen Heck sind eine echte Gefahr und keine Unordnung. Alles Metallische, das den Weg dorthin findet — eine heruntergefallene Schraube, ein bei einem hektischen Wechsel liegengebliebenes Werkzeug, eine lose Gurtschnalle — kann sie überbrücken, und ein Lithiumpaket, das einen satten Kurzschluss liefern soll, tut das mit Nachdruck. Manche Reglements verlangen genau deshalb abgedeckte Pole, und wo sie es nicht tun, ist es eine der günstigsten Absicherungen am ganzen Motorrad.
Laden zwischen den Sitzungen
Die Batterie eines Rennmotorrads wird häufiger geladen als die eines Straßenmotorrads, weil eine Maschine, die den Tag über gestartet, warmgefahren und wieder abgestellt wird, von der Lichtmaschine nie eine richtige Ladung bekommt. Damit wird der Zugang zu einer echten Überlegung. Die Abdeckung ist eine Schraube vom Abnehmen entfernt — genau das will man, wenn das Motorrad zwanzig Minuten vor der nächsten Sitzung hereinkommt und jemand ein Ladegerät anschließen muss.
Nicht in jeder Bestellung
Dieses Teil steht nicht auf jeder Händlerliste zur R9, weshalb es beim Bestellen einer Heckbaugruppe leicht übersehen wird. Es lohnt sich, es gleich mit der Sitzeinheit zu ordern, statt die Lücke beim Aufbau zu entdecken.
