Dieser Satz passt nicht an die R 1250 GS Adventure. Akrapovic schreibt das in die erste Zeile des eigenen Passungshinweises, und es ist das Gegenteil dessen, was für den passenden unteren Satz gilt — wer für eine Adventure beide Hälften kauft, muss das vorher wissen und nicht nachher.

Oben und unten sind zwei Käufe
Akrapovic teilt den Schutz in einen oberen und einen unteren Satz, getrennt verkauft. Die oberen Bügel schützen Tank und Zylinderkopfbereich, die unteren nehmen Motor und Ölwanne.
Die meisten Besitzer wollen beides. An einer normalen GS geht das. An einer Adventure lässt sich nur der untere Satz montieren, und diese Seite gibt es unter anderem, damit diese Bestellung nicht falsch hinausgeht.
Warum die Adventure anders ist
Die R 1250 GS Adventure trägt 30 Liter gegen die 20 der normalen Maschine, und die Verkleidung darum hat eine andere Form. Obere Bügel müssen dieser Form eng folgen, um überhaupt zu nützen, und ein um den kleineren Tank herum konstruierter Satz geht schlicht nicht dran.
Die unteren Bügel sitzen unterhalb von alldem und sind davon unberührt — daher die unterschiedliche Verträglichkeit der beiden Hälften.
Gut zwei Kilogramm
2,38 kg für das Paar. Das ist, was Titan erkauft — Akrapovic beziffert die Ersparnis gegenüber einem vergleichbaren Stahlsatz mit rund 40 Prozent, und an einem Motorrad, das regelmäßig über 250 kg wiegt, zählt Gewicht weit oben am Tank mehr, als die Zahl vermuten lässt.
Eine deutsche Erlaubnis, keine Typgenehmigung
Dem Satz liegt eine ABE bei. Unter dieser Erlaubnis dürfen die Bügel montiert und gefahren werden, ohne Gang zum Prüfer und ohne dass etwas in den Fahrzeugschein geschrieben wird.
Das ist eine stärkere Stellung, als die meisten Schutzteile aus dem Zubehör erreichen, und einer der Gründe, warum dieser Satz kostet, was er kostet.
Die Schweißnaht ist das Produkt
Titanrohr verzeiht beim Schweißen nichts — es braucht Schutzgas auf beiden Seiten der Naht und zeigt jeden Fehler. Diese Bügel kommen aus derselben Fertigung wie die Rennauspuffanlagen, und ihre Befestigungsplatten werden auf 8 mm geschnitten und danach passgenau nachbearbeitet.
Ein Teil der Struktur verankert im Fahrgestell, was einen Schlag über die gesamte Baugruppe verteilt, statt ihn einem einzelnen Halter aufzuladen. Akrapovic berichtet von wiederholten Versuchen und Verformungsanalysen hinter dieser Auslegung.
Licht und Gepäck
Obere Bügel sind an einer GS der natürliche Platz für Zusatzscheinwerfer: hoch genug, um weit zu leuchten, steif genug, um nicht zu zittern. Auch Zusatztaschen lassen sich daran befestigen, und dort verstauen die meisten Fahrer Werkzeug und Verbandszeug.

Eine Stunde Werkstattzeit, angeschraubt an vorhandene Rahmenpunkte. Wie bei jedem am Rahmen befestigten Teil zählen die Drehmomente; ein Bügel, der sich lockert, ist schlimmer als gar keiner.
