Wohin 4 Newtonmeter bei 3.650/min gehen
Eine R 1250 RT ist lang übersetzt und wird im höchsten Gang auf Autobahn und Schnellstraße gefahren, meist mit Gepäck und oft mit Sozius. Bei erlaubtem Tempo im sechsten Gang liegt der ShiftCam-Boxer nahe 3.500/min — und genau dort legt diese Anlage ihr Drehmoment drauf.
Die Wirkung zeigt sich darin, wie das Motorrad ohne Herunterschalten am Gas hängt: beim Überholen, an einer Steigung mit voller Zuladung. Eine kleine Veränderung an einer Stelle, die ein Tourer ständig benutzt — das ist mehr wert als eine größere dort, wo das Motorrad selten hinkommt.
Warum sich das Gewicht kaum bewegt
BMWs Serienschalldämpfer der RT ist bereits ein vergleichsweise leichtes Teil, und der Akrapovic-Ersatz muss dasselbe akustische Volumen und dieselbe Abgastechnik behalten, um innerhalb der Typgenehmigung zu bleiben. Die Titanhülle holt nur zurück, was die Form aufgibt. Fünfzig Gramm sind das Ergebnis, und sie in eine Prozentzahl aufzublasen hieße, sie zu verstecken statt sie zu nennen.
Alles bleibt angeschraubt
Die RT ist ein vollverkleideter Tourer, und die meisten tragen die BMW-Seitenkoffer dauerhaft. Dieser Dämpfer ist um sie herum bemaßt, es muss also nichts herunter. Krümmer und Katalysator bleiben serienmäßig, ein neues Mapping ist nicht nötig, und das Originalteil ist in einer halben Stunde wieder dran.
Warum wir die 0,05 Kilogramm hinschreiben
Es wäre einfach, das Gewicht auf dieser Seite wegzulassen. Jede andere Akrapovic-Anzeige führt mit einer Prozentzahl, und ein Prozent will niemand drucken. Aber wer als RT-Fahrer Auspuffanlagen vergleicht, hat ein Recht darauf zu erfahren, dass dies nicht der Weg ist, das Motorrad leichter zu machen — eine leichtere Ausführung dieses Teils gibt es nicht, und eine Anlage, die wirklich Gewicht spart, müsste entweder das akustische Volumen oder die Abgastechnik aufgeben und damit die Typgenehmigung.
