Die breiteste Passung aller Katalysatoren hier
MT-09, FZ-09, Tracer 900, FJ-09, XSR900, Niken. Yamaha baute sie alle um den CP3-Dreizylinder mit derselben Abgasführung, und ein Katalysator bedient sie von 2014 bis 2021.
Die Niken ist der Ausreißer, und den sollte man nennen: ein neigbares Dreirad mit zwei Vorderrädern, vom Motor nach hinten mechanisch dasselbe Motorrad. Wer eine fährt, ist es gewohnt zu hören, ein Teil passe an seine nicht. Dieses passt.
Was die Racing Line braucht
Akrapovics Racing Line für die MT-09-Familie ist EG- und ECE-typgenehmigt, und diese Genehmigung ist um einen vorhandenen Katalysator herum geschrieben. Nimmt man ihn heraus, wird die Anlage zum Streckenteil.

Der andere Grund, warum Leute nach einem Katalysator suchen. An einer MT-09 von 2014 ist das Original heute über zehn Jahre alt, und ein Katalysator ist ein Verschleißteil: Hitzewechsel reißen den Träger, und eine Phase mit zu fettem Gemisch belegt ihn auf eine Weise, die sich nicht rückgängig machen lässt.
Anzeichen sind ein Loch bei hohen Drehzahlen, ein Klappern unter dem Motorrad oder eine nicht bestandene Abgasuntersuchung. Keines davon lässt sich mit dem Auge bestätigen.
Edelmetalle auf einer Wabe
Der Träger ist eine Metallwabe; der arbeitende Teil ist eine darauf gebundene Schicht aus Palladium, Rhodium und Platin. Kohlenmonoxid und unverbrannte Kohlenwasserstoffe hinein, Kohlendioxid und Wasserdampf hinaus.
Diese drei Metalle machen den größten Teil des Preises aus, und sie sind auch der Grund, warum ein gebrauchtes Teil ein Glücksspiel ist — die Beschichtung ist unsichtbar, und ein vergifteter Katalysator sieht makellos aus.
Um den Durchfluss herum gebaut
Akrapovic betont, dass die eigenen Katalysatoren leistungsorientiert und nicht universal sind. Ein Widerstand ist unvermeidlich; das Konstruktionsziel ist, ihn klein genug zu halten, damit Klang und Werte der Anlage überleben.
Der Dreizylinder, der ein Jahrzehnt prägte
Der CP3-Motor gab Yamaha eine Mittelklassebaureihe, die ab 2014 über mehrere Generationen lief. Sie gehört zu den häufigsten Gebrauchtmotorrädern in Deutschland, und die Teileversorgung dafür zählt mehr als bei den meisten Maschinen.
