Edelstahl, nicht Carbon. Jedes andere Hitzeschild dieses Katalogs ist ein Verbundteil, dieses ist Metall — schwarz beschichtet, mit dem Akrapovic-Logo eingraviert statt aufgedruckt. Das ist eine bewusste Entscheidung, und sie ändert, wofür das Teil da ist.

Warum hier Stahl
Carbon ist leichter und wird von Akrapovic fast überall sonst verwendet. Stahl ist schlagfester, gleichgültig gegen Dauerhitze und nimmt eine Gravur an, die Carbon nicht annehmen kann.
An diesen Maschinen sitzt das Schild tief, wo Straßendreck hinkommt. Ein Stein, der eine Carbonplatte schürfen würde, lässt beschichteten Stahl unbeeindruckt — und an einem ganzjährig gefahrenen Motorrad ist das ein vernünftiger Tausch gegen die zusätzlichen Gramm.
Graviert, nicht aufgebracht
Das Logo ist ins Metall geschnitten. Ein gedrucktes oder geklebtes Emblem auf einer heißen Fläche hebt sich irgendwann an den Rändern; eine Gravur tut das nicht und ist nach einem Jahrzehnt Hochdruckreiniger noch da.
Es ist ein kleines Detail, und es ist der größte Teil des optischen Arguments für dieses Teil.
Drei Motorräder, ein Motor
Triumphs 660-cm³-Dreizylinder treibt die nackte Trident, die halbverkleidete Tiger Sport und die sportliche Daytona 660 an. Die drei zielen auf völlig verschiedene Fahrer und teilen Rahmen und Abgasführung, ein Schild passt also an alle.
Akrapovics eigene Beschreibung nennt namentlich nur die Trident — wissenswert, wenn Sie eine der beiden anderen fahren: Die Passung deckt sie ab, der Werbetext erwähnt sie nicht.
Es gehört zur Racing Line
Das Schild ist für die Akrapovic Racing Line dieser Maschinen angegeben und nicht für einen Slip-On. An der Triumph-Serienanlage ist die Aufnahmegeometrie eine andere.
Kein veröffentlichtes Gewicht
Akrapovic nennt keine Zahl, und da es Stahl statt Carbon ist, sollte niemand überhaupt eine Ersparnis gegenüber dem Serienteil annehmen. Es kann ebenso gut gleich viel oder mehr wiegen. Der Grund für den Einbau sind Oberfläche und Haltbarkeit, nicht die Masse.
Das offen zu sagen ist nützlicher, als einen Vorteil anzudeuten, den der Hersteller nicht behauptet.
Schwarz beschichtet, und warum
Blanker Edelstahl läuft dort an, wo eine Anlage am heißesten wird — erst strohgelb, dann blau. Eine schwarze Beschichtung verdeckt das und hält die Temperatur aus, und deshalb schreibt Akrapovic sie hier vor, statt das Metall poliert zu lassen wie an manchen Dämpferhüllen.
A2-Maschinen
Alle drei Triumph-660er gibt es in A2-tauglicher Ausführung, und sie sind häufig das erste große Motorrad. Ein Teil, das einen Winter Salz und einen Sommer Splitt übersteht, passt zu diesem Einsatz besser als ein Verbundteil.
Zulassung
Nicht einschlägig. Ein Hitzeschild ist weder ein Abgas- noch ein Geräuschbauteil, und was das Motorrad darf, entscheidet die Racing Line dahinter.
