Die FTR 1200 S ist die besser ausgestattete Version von Indians Flat-Track-Roadster, mit Touchscreen-Display, wählbaren Fahrmodi und aufgewerteter Federung, und Accossatos Katalog umfasst auch die im Renndesign lackierte S RR. Viele S-Besitzer behandeln das Bike als Alltagsmaschine statt als Garagenschmuckstück. Fertigung und Materialgüte
Die ST-Rezeptur bietet, in Accossatos Beschreibung, ein hohes Griffniveau, das stabil bleibt, ob der Belag kalt oder heiß ist, und kommt gut mit Regen zurecht. Für ein S-Modell, dessen Elektronik dem Fahrer bei rutschigen Bedingungen bereits hilft, ergänzt ein Frontbelag, der seinen Charakter nicht ändert, dieses Sicherheitsnetz sinnvoll: Der Fahrer weiß immer, was ein bestimmter Hebeldruck bewirkt. Elektronik plus stabiler Belag
Fahrmodi können das Gasansprechen für eine nasse Pendelfahrt abmildern, doch sie können nicht ändern, was die Beläge tun, wenn Wasser auf den Scheiben steht. Ein gesinterter Frontbelag füllt diese Lücke, indem er unabhängig vom Wetter gleichbleibenden Biss liefert, was die S bei einem Platzregen oder an einem kalten Morgen leichter ruhig fahrbar macht. Er nimmt auch das zusätzliche Gewicht eines Sozius und einer Hecktasche mühelos.
