Die Rebel 500 wird dank ihrer niedrigen Sitzhöhe meist als Motorrad für kleinere Fahrer beschrieben. Viele große Fahrer kaufen trotzdem eine, angezogen vom Bobber-Stil und dem umgänglichen Zweizylinder, und sie sitzen anders darauf: die Knie höher, die Ellbogen stärker angewinkelt, die Hände kommen von oben an die Griffe. Accossatos ESH250, ein CNC-gefräster Aluminium-Kupplungshebel für die Rebel 500 von 2017 bis 2021, hat eine einstellbare Griffweite und drei Blattlängen, sodass sich die linke Hand auch für einen größeren Körperbau einrichten lässt.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Accossato fertigt den ESH250, indem ein massiver Aluminiumrohling auf CNC-Anlagen gefräst und das Ergebnis eloxiert wird. Der Hebel kommt in zwei Farbtönen. Seine schwarze Nabe trägt Drehpunkt und Griffweiteneinsteller und fügt sich unauffällig neben die dunkle Schaltereinheit, während das Blatt die Farbe bekommt, die Sie auswählen. Nichts daran klappt oder ist gelenkig gelagert: Das Blatt ist ein einziges starres Stück, sodass der Punkt, an dem die Kupplung zu greifen beginnt, genau dort bleibt, wo Sie ihn zu finden gelernt haben.
Ein großer Fahrer auf einem niedrigen Motorrad
Auf einem kompakten Cruiser knicken die Handgelenke eines großen Fahrers oft nach unten ab, weil die Unterarme von den hohen Ellbogen steil zu den Griffen abfallen. Bleibt der Kupplungshebel in dem Winkel, der für einen kleineren Fahrer gewählt wurde, treffen die Finger ihn ungünstig, und das Handgelenk knickt bei jedem Zug ein wenig weiter ab. Beginnen Sie mit dem Winkel: Lässt sich die Kupplungsarmatur auf dem Lenker drehen, drehen Sie sie etwas nach unten, bis der Hebel in Ihrer normalen Fahrhaltung in einer Linie mit Ihrem Unterarm liegt, und ziehen Sie sie wieder fest, wie es Ihr Handbuch beschreibt. Stellen Sie dann die Griffweite ein. Große Hände wollen das Blatt meist weiter außen haben, damit sich die Finger darum legen können, ohne dass die Knöchel bei vollem Zug an den Griff stoßen. Wählen Sie die Länge zuletzt. Das lange Blatt gibt langen Fingern Platz und zusätzliche Hebelwirkung, und das Standardblatt bleibt dem Original am nächsten. Ziehen Sie den Hebel, bevor Sie mit der Rebel 500 wieder losfahren, bei laufendem Motor, gehaltener Vorderradbremse und eingelegtem ersten Gang ein paarmal ganz durch und vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Kupplung noch vollständig trennt.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Accossato führt den ESH250 für die Rebel 500, dort CMX 500 genannt, für die Modelljahre 2017 bis 2021. Er tritt an die Stelle des Originalhebels an der serienmäßigen Kupplungsaufnahme. Accossatos Liste zeigt für dieses Motorrad keinen Bremshebel, deshalb wird der Kupplungshebel allein angeboten. Rebel-500-Maschinen aus anderen Modelljahren gehören nicht zu diesem Eintrag.
Straßenzulassung
Für den ESH250 ist keine deutsche ABE dokumentiert, er wird für den Einsatz auf der Rennstrecke verkauft.
