Suzuki gab der SFV650 Gladius den Namen eines römischen Kurzschwerts und eine Form, die angeschaut werden will: ein geschwungener Tank, ein offen gezeigter Rahmen und fließende Linien, die sie von der SV650 abheben, deren V2 sie geerbt hat. Es war ein Motorrad, das man ebenso mit den Augen wie mit dem Kopf kaufte, und deshalb ist die Farbe beim Austausch von Teilen eine echte Frage. Der Accossato EDF014 ist ein Bremshebel für die Gladius von 2009 bis 2015, aus Aluminium gefräst und eloxiert, mit schwarzer Nabe, einem Blatt in der Farbe Ihrer Wahl und einer Griffweite, die Sie selbst einstellen.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Farbe auf eloxiertem Aluminium wirkt anders als Lack. Weil der Farbstoff in einer durchscheinenden, aus dem Metall gewachsenen Oxidschicht sitzt, scheint die gefräste Oberfläche darunter noch durch und verleiht dem Finish eine leichte metallische Tiefe. Der EDF014 wird auf CNC-Maschinen aus Aluminium gefräst, bevor er eloxiert wird, und die Nabe mit Drehpunkt und Griffweiteneinsteller ist bei jeder Ausführung schwarz. Nur das Blatt erhält die Farbe. Es ist ein starrer Hebel, ein durchgehendes Teil von der Nabe bis hinaus zur Spitze.
Eine Farbe für die Gladius wählen
Suzuki verkaufte die Gladius über ihre sieben Modelljahre in mehreren Farbschemata, es gibt also nicht die eine richtige Blattfarbe, nur die, die zu Ihrem Motorrad passt. Drei Ansätze funktionieren gut. Ein Blatt passend zu einer kräftigen Lackfarbe, etwa Rot oder Blau, macht den Hebel zum Teil der Lackierung. Wer eine Zweitfarbe aufgreift, vielleicht die des Rahmens oder eines Dekors auf dem Tank, verbindet Details, die sonst weit auseinanderliegen. Und wo die Lackierung schon unruhig ist, lassen Schwarz oder Silber den Hebel im Hintergrund. Weil die Nabe bei jeder Ausführung schwarz ist, hat selbst ein kräftiges Blatt eine dunkle Basis, die es mit der Schaltereinheit verbindet. Was Sie auch wählen, es lohnt sich, den Kupplungshebel in derselben Farbe zu bestellen, damit der Lenker vom Sattel aus gewollt aussieht. Vom Fahrersitz aus gesehen gehören die beiden Hebel nach den Instrumenten zu den sichtbarsten Teilen der Gladius.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Accossato führt den EDF014 für die SFV 650 Gladius von 2009 bis 2015. Er passt anstelle des Serienhebels an den originalen Bremszylinder, und sein Partner auf der linken Seite ist der Kupplungshebel ESS248, aufgeführt für dieselben Jahre. Wenn Sie ein passendes Paar planen, beachten Sie, welche Farben es in welchen Längen gibt: Blau, Gold, Grün und Orange werden kurz, in Standardlänge und lang gefertigt, Silber kurz und in Standardlänge, Rot und Schwarz nur als Standardhebel mit rund 138 mm.
Straßenzulassung
Accossato liefert für diesen Hebel keine dokumentierte deutsche ABE. Er wird deshalb für die Rennstrecke verkauft.
