Die XDiavel war Ducatis erster Cruiser: niedrig, lang, mit Riemenantrieb und rund um Fußrasten gebaut, die die Füße des Fahrers weit nach vorn bringen. Diese Haltung macht das Motorrad bei gleichmäßigem Tempo entspannt, und sie verändert auch das Bremsen. Mit nach vorn gestreckten Beinen hat der Körper wenig, wogegen er sich abstützen kann, eine harte Bremsung wird also vor allem über Arme und Hände gehalten. Der Accossato EDF099 ersetzt den originalen Handbremshebel der XDiavel von 2016 bis 2022 durch ein gefrästes Aluminiumblatt, das sich näher an den Griff oder weiter davon weg stellen lässt.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Statt den Hebel zu gießen, fräst Accossato ihn auf CNC-Maschinen aus Aluminium und veredelt ihn durch Eloxieren. Die Nabe bleibt bei jeder Ausführung schwarz, nur das Blatt bekommt die Farbe. An der XDiavel funktioniert diese Aufteilung gut: Die schwarze Nabe sitzt unauffällig neben der Schaltereinheit, während das Blatt in einem dunklen Cockpit entweder verschwinden oder sich davon abheben kann. Konstruktiv ist der Hebel ein einziges starres Teil. Zwischen Nabe und Blatt gibt es kein Gelenk, der Druck Ihrer Finger geht also direkt zum Bremszylinder.
Füße vorn, Arme gestreckt
Wenn Sie auf der XDiavel hart bremsen, verlagert die Verzögerung Ihr Gewicht zum Lenker, und mit den Füßen vorn stemmen sich am Ende die Arme dagegen. Genau in diesem Moment kostet ein schlecht platzierter Hebel Kontrolle. Steht das Blatt zu weit ab, müssen die Finger danach greifen, während die Arme durchgestreckt sind, und der Halt am Lenker wird genau dann schwächer, wenn er fest sein muss. Mit dem Einsteller etwas näher geholt, lässt der Hebel die ganze Hand Griff und Blatt zusammen umschließen, und die Bremsung bleibt stabil. Viele Cruiser-Fahrer bremsen mit vier Fingern, und das lange Blatt, angeboten in Orange, Grün, Blau und Gold, gibt ihnen den Platz und die Hebelwirkung, um das mit weniger Kraft zu tun. Das Standardblatt mit rund 138 mm bleibt dem Gefühl des Originals am nächsten. Üben Sie nach dem Einbau ein paar kräftige Bremsungen, damit die neue Hebelposition in Fleisch und Blut übergeht, bevor Sie sie brauchen.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Auf Accossatos Liste deckt der EDF099 die XDiavel von 2016 bis 2022 ab, sowohl das Standardmodell als auch die S. Der passende Accossato-Kupplungshebel, der ESH011, ist für dieses Motorrad von 2016 bis 2020 gelistet. Die beiden Listungen enden also in verschiedenen Jahren, und für die Maschinen von 2021 und 2022 ist nur der Bremshebel gelistet. Der Bremshebel ersetzt das Serienblatt am originalen Bremszylinder.
