Die BN 251 ist ein kleines Einzylinder-Naked-Bike von Benelli, der traditionsreichen italienischen Marke aus Pesaro, und für viele Fahrer ein früher Schritt auf ein vollwertiges Motorrad. Die Vorderradbremse gut einsetzen zu lernen, ist vor allem Sache der Hand, und ein Hebel, der zur Hand passt, ist ein guter Anfang. Der Accossato EDF016 ersetzt den originalen Handbremshebel der BN 251. Er ist aus Aluminium CNC-gefräst, passt an den originalen Bremszylinder und lässt sich näher an den Griff holen, was kleineren Händen hilft. Accossato führt ihn für 2016 und 2017.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
CNC steht für computergestützte numerische Steuerung: Der Fräser folgt einer programmierten Bahn, und jeder Hebel, der von der Maschine kommt, hat dieselbe Kontur. Accossato formt den EDF016 mit diesem Verfahren aus massivem Aluminium und eloxiert ihn anschließend. Bei jeder Ausführung ist die Nabe schwarz, das Blatt kommt in der bestellten Farbe. Die Nabe enthält Drehpunkt und Griffweiten-Einsteller, und das Blatt ist ein einziges starres Stück ohne Gelenk, denn der EDF016 ist ein starrer Hebel. An einem leichten Motorrad, dessen Bedienelemente immer im Blick sind, gehört diese saubere Zweifarbigkeit zu den Details, die ein Cockpit gepflegt aussehen lassen.
Wohin der Daumen gehört
Wer neu mit einer kräftigen vorderen Scheibenbremse zu tun hat, macht bei einem plötzlichen Stopp oft dieselbe Bewegung: Die ganze Hand öffnet sich, um den Hebel zu erreichen, und der Daumen verlässt den Griff. Einen Moment lang hält die rechte Hand nichts als den Hebel, und genau dann braucht das Motorrad eine ruhige Lenkung. Fahrlehrer bringen das Gegenteil bei. Daumen und Handballen bleiben um den Griff gelegt, und die Finger kommen nach vorn zum Hebel. Das funktioniert nur, wenn das Blatt für die Finger ohne Strecken erreichbar ist, und bei einem Standardhebel kann das für kleinere Hände ein Problem sein. Der Einsteller des EDF016 holt das Blatt näher an den Griff. Stellen Sie ihn so ein, dass die ersten Fingerglieder bei entspannter Hand auf dem Blatt liegen. Üben Sie dann auf einem leeren Parkplatz das Anhalten aus niedrigem Tempo und ziehen Sie den Hebel dabei progressiv, bis die Bewegung von selbst abläuft. Auf der BN 251 zahlen sich diese paar Minuten Übung bei jeder Fahrt aus.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Accossato führt den EDF016 für die BN 251 in den Jahren 2016 und 2017. Der Hebel wird anstelle des Serienhebels am originalen Vorderrad-Bremszylinder montiert. Für die Kupplungsseite fertigt Accossato den ESD037, der dieselben zwei Modelljahre abdeckt.
Straßenzulassung
Nicht für deutsche Straßen zugelassen: Für den EDF016 ist keine ABE dokumentiert, er wird für die Rennstrecke verkauft.
