The JP ES 013 closes the R6's sidestand circuit so it runs with the stand removed.

A Track Bike by Default
A very large proportion of R6s never see a public road any more. Yamaha stopped selling it for street use and the surviving population is heavily weighted toward circuits.
Sixteen Thousand Five Hundred Revs
The redline on a 599 cc four. Nothing else in the supersport class ever asked to be worked that hard and nothing has since.
Why the Stand Goes
It is dead weight, it fouls the exhaust on some builds and a scrutineer would rather not see one. Removing it takes the switch with it.
The Circuit Reads Open
Which the ECU treats as a deployed stand. The engine stops in gear and nothing else can be commissioned until this is dealt with.
Restoring the State
This unit supplies the closed circuit the controller expects. The bike starts, runs and displays nothing about the missing switch.
Fifteen Model Years
The fitment covers 2008 to 2022, the whole of the final R6 generation. Yamaha left the sidestand wiring alone across the run.
Nothing Spliced
The original connector is used. On a bike being rebuilt between rounds, an installation with no cut wires survives repeated handling.
Fitted First
Nothing else on the preparation list can be tested until the engine will run in gear. It is the job everybody does before anything else.
A Class Yamaha Left
Rather than detune the R6 to meet the next emissions standard, Yamaha withdrew it. The decision says a great deal about how the engine was built.
Still Filling Grids
Years after leaving showrooms the R6 remains the default supersport race bike across Europe. Parts availability, accumulated setup knowledge and an engine that survives being revved to the limiter every lap have kept it there.
