DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP MJ 001 is fitted to the Multistrada 1200 S to make an injected engine pleasanter rather than faster, and the description says exactly that.
Key Features
- Ducati Multistrada 1200 S (2015–2018)
- Preset fuel module, no programming required
- Corrects the mixture without remapping the original electronics
- Plug-and-play with model-specific wiring
- Around 200 g, fitted in an evening
- Unplugs at any time, nothing is written to the motorcycle
Skyhook
The S carried Ducati's semi-active suspension, which reads the road surface many times a second. The engine map is unchanged from the base bike.
Fully Reversible
Unplug the module, reconnect the original connectors and the motorcycle is standard again in the time it takes to lift the seat. Nothing is cut, nothing is soldered and no software has to be reinstalled anywhere.
Injector Opening Time
Everything a fuel module does comes down to holding the injector open fractionally longer or shorter than the standard controller intended. There is no other mechanism and no magic in it; the precision comes from knowing by how much and when.
The Case Against Buying It
A late model motorcycle with the standard exhaust, ridden gently, is already mapped about as well as it needs to be. The honest advice there is to spend the money on tyres.
The Alternative Costs More
A specialist remap with dyno time is several times the price and is written into the original controller. It can achieve more; it is also considerably harder to reverse.
Nothing at the Pump
Fuel consumption stays where it was within any margin anybody can measure on a road. Claims in either direction should be treated with suspicion.
A Note on Dyno Runs
A power run measures full throttle from low revs to the limiter. That is one line through a map with hundreds of cells, and it is not the line this module was designed to change.
Six Cylinders
At the other extreme, an inline six is so smooth that a lean patch is easy to miss. The correction still applies; the rider simply has less to compare it against.
