DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 047 takes the Z900RS's vapour canister and its plumbing off the motorcycle for good.
Key Features
- Kawasaki Z900RS (2018–2026)
- Removes the evaporative canister and its hoses
- Vents the tank through a proper fitting
- Closes the purge valve circuit
- Clears the space behind the engine
- Standard parts refit at any time
Four Cylinders
Almost every retro rival uses two, and the RS sounds and drives entirely differently as a result. It is the whole reason to choose one.
The Cafe Version
Kawasaki offers a bikini-faired variant with clip-ons, which divides the audience and sells steadily to the half that likes it.
Overfilling Kills It
Topping up after the pump has stopped forces fuel down a line meant only for vapour. The charcoal takes it, holds it, and afterwards the engine is difficult on a cold morning for reasons nobody connects to the filling station.
A Bigger Tank Works It Harder
The touring models carry more fuel and produce proportionally more vapour while the canister stays the same size. Saturation arrives sooner on those machines.
Nothing Structural
The bracket carries the vessel and nothing else. No part of the frame, the subframe or the fuel supply is affected and the only trace left is a pair of empty holes.
Label the Hoses
Write on each pipe before it is pulled off. Reassembly months later otherwise becomes an exercise in guesswork, and a strip of tape is cheaper than that afternoon.
Nothing in the Schedule
There is no entry for it in the service book. The bed simply saturates at some point during the motorcycle's life and no one is told, because no one is looking.
Where the Weight Matters
Weight matters less than where it sits. The drum lives above the swingarm pivot and behind the motor, which is close to the worst place on the machine for a kilogram and a half to be carried.
Access Is Genuinely Improved
On several models the rear shock adjuster sits directly behind the vessel, and setting preload becomes a two-minute job rather than an exercise in short tools and patience. Owners who adjust suspension regularly notice this immediately.
The Tank Is the Product
Kawasaki spent the development budget on making the Z900RS look like a Z1, and it worked well enough that the model outsold the naked bike it is based on. Owners buy it for the shape and then discover a thoroughly modern motorcycle underneath.
