DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Scrambler 1100 is an air-cooled Ducati twin with the exhaust stacked high on the right, which makes the silencer the most visible component on the bike. Akrapovic answered with two conical titanium pipes derived from Grand Prix practice and a pair of carbon fibre heat shields, and kept full EC and ECE type approval.
Key Features
- Twin conical mufflers with their geometry taken from Grand Prix exhaust practice
- High-grade titanium construction with carbon fibre heat shields
- 4.54 kg against the standard 5.84 kg: 1.3 kg and 22.3 per cent less, taken from the highest point of a tall bike
- Solid gain across the rev range rather than a single peak: 1.0 PS at 8,200 rpm and 1.0 Nm at 4,800 rpm
- Fits the Scrambler 1100 Dark Pro as well as the standard machine
- EC and ECE type approved, certificates supplied
- Noise insert included, installation about 30 minutes with no remapping
The Cone, and Where the Weight Goes
A conical muffler gives a steadily increasing cross-section, which lets the pressure wave be tuned along the length of the pipe rather than at a single step. It is why Akrapovic uses the shape on Grand Prix machinery, and on a Scrambler it happens to be the right period look as well.
Removing 1.3 kg from two silencers mounted high on the right of a tall, narrow motorcycle does more for how the bike feels at walking pace than the same weight taken from anywhere lower down.
Performance
The measured gains are 1.0 PS at 8,200 rpm and 1.0 Nm at 4,800 rpm. Small, and stated as such — an air-cooled 1,079 cc twin under Euro 5 does not respond to a type-approved slip-on with large numbers. The reasons to fit this are the weight, the look and the sound of two short titanium cones on a big air-cooled V-twin.
Which Scrambler 1100 You Are Looking At
Ducati kept the Scrambler 1100 in several trims across these years. The Sport Pro runs Öhlins forks and low bars; the Dark Pro is the stripped, matt-black version; the Tribute Pro carries its own paint and a round mirror set. Mechanically they are one motorcycle — the same air-cooled 1,079 cc twin, the same frame, the same twin-silencer arrangement high on the right.
This part fits across those trims. Installation is 30 minutes, no remapping is needed, and the standard system can go back on if the bike is sold in original condition.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-D11SO13-HBFGT covers the Ducati Scrambler 1100 from model year 2021 through 2024 and fits the Scrambler 1100 Dark Pro without modification. An optional carbon fibre heat shield, P-HSD12E3, is available as a separate item.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval. Both certificates ship with the exhaust and can be downloaded here, so the silencers are legal replacement parts for road use in the European Union.
