DescriptionThe whole story▼

It works with every Akrapovic slip-on for the 2025 Z900 — and with none of them once the optional header is fitted. Akrapovic states both halves of that sentence, and the second half is the one people miss.

Key Features

  • Hand-crafted carbon fibre
  • Works with every Slip-On Line system for the 2025 Z900
  • Does NOT work once the optional header E-K9R7 is fitted
  • Covers the Z900 and the Z900 SE
  • An optional extra rather than a required part

If You Plan to Build a Full System

The header E-K9R7 turns a slip-on into a complete racing exhaust, and it changes the routing where the shield sits. Fit the header and this shield comes off.

So the order of purchase matters. If a full system is the plan, the shield is money spent on a part you will remove; if the slip-on is the whole plan, it finishes the job.

Every Slip-On, Not Just One

Unlike the Ninja 400 shield, which excludes one specific silencer, this one fits the whole 2025 Z900 slip-on range: the approved titanium and carbon versions and the export specification alike.

That makes it a simple decision for anyone who has already chosen a silencer. There is only one condition to check, and it is about the header rather than the muffler.

Carbon Against Titanium or Carbon

Akrapovic offers the 2025 Z900 slip-on in both materials. A carbon shield beside a carbon silencer reads as one component; beside a titanium one it is a deliberate contrast, and the titanium will take on heat colours over time while the shield stays black.

Neither is wrong. Worth picturing before ordering both together.

The A2 Machine Has Its Own

Akrapovic builds P-HSK9SO1 for the Z900 A2 of 2017 to 2024, with the same condition attached: it works with every slip-on for that machine, and not once the optional header is fitted.

Same logic, different years and a different part number. Check which Z900 you have before ordering either.

What It Costs to Change Your Mind

If you fit the shield now and the header later, the shield comes off and stays off. It is not an expensive part, but it is worth knowing the sequence before spending on both.

Hand-Crafted

Akrapovic specifies the carbon as hand-crafted rather than moulded in volume — a weave that follows the curve rather than puckering at the edges, which on a part this size is most of what you see.

Two Motorcycles, Two Shields

Kawasaki sells the Z900 in full-power and A2 form, and the 2025 redesign changed the tail on both. This shield covers the 2025 and 2026 machines; the A2 of 2017 to 2024 takes P-HSK9SO1 instead.

The model year on the registration document settles which of the two you need.

Fitment and Compatibility

P-HSK9SO2 covers the Kawasaki Z900 and Z900 SE for model years 2025 and 2026, in combination with any Akrapovic slip-on and without the optional header.
