DescriptionThe whole story▼

A Brutale 800 that has been turned into a race bike needs a front brake setup to match. This ZXC ceramic racing set fits the front of the MV Agusta Brutale 800 family from 2013 to 2025 and is aimed at teams and privateers who plan and adjust their brakes across a race weekend.

Key Features

  • ZXC ceramic racing front pads for the Brutale 800 range
  • 2013 to 2025, depending on version
  • Ceramic compound ideal for racing, per Accossato
  • For circuit-only machines
  • Alternative to EV2 for competition use
  • Two pads per box, one caliper

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes ZXC as a ceramic compound ideal for racing. That places it firmly on the circuit. The maker aims for long pad life, fade held back by controlled heat and strong stopping power across its range. Accossato today works from Villastellone near Turin. On a light three-cylinder race bike, a ceramic front pad is one element of a setup that also includes tyres, suspension and lever adjustment, and it should be judged over several sessions.

Brake Setup as Part of the Plan

Race teams working with a Brutale 800 track bike treat the brakes as a setting to be tuned. On Friday they learn how the ceramic ZXC set beds in and how the lever changes as heat builds. On Saturday they fine-tune lever position and bleed the system if needed. On Sunday they race. This pad is for people who work that way. For comparison, EV2 is the other racing mixture in this shape, while OR, ST and EV1 are road-based.

Pit Box Routine

Change both front sets together and bed them in over the first laps. Check disc surfaces and pad thickness after every session. Keep fluid fresh and cleaning spray away from the friction faces. Clean the pistons before retracting them.

Fitment and Compatibility

This front pad goes on any member of the family that Accossato names for it: the naked Brutale 800 sold 2013 to 2020, its RC edition from 2018 to 2020, the Rosso which came in 2020, the short-tail Dragster made 2015 to 2019 and the Dragster RC made from 2017. The last two in that list, Rosso and Dragster RC, are catalogued until 2025. Teams that changed calipers during a race build must check the shape against the original part. The rear caliper uses AGPA42. With two calipers up front, two boxes complete the job, and it pays to have a third ready in the pit box.

Road Approval

No approval paperwork (ABE or test mark) is available for this pad, which is why it is offered for circuit and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

One box, two ceramic-compound pads, one caliper. No mounting parts.
