DescriptionThe whole story▼

Chrome still has its place on the Eldorado, a Moto Guzzi cruiser that keeps its bright finishes rather than going matt. At the top of the forks, Accossato offers the SA006, an open steering stem nut threaded M29x1, anodised in seven colours including a titanium that sits well against polished metal, for the Eldorado of 2015 to 2017.

Key Features

  • Steering stem nut, open pattern, for the Moto Guzzi Eldorado
  • Accossato's years: 2015 to 2017
  • M29x1 thread
  • CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
  • Seven colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium, gold
  • Fixes the upper triple clamp to the steering stem
  • Closed version SC006 also listed for this bike
  • No German ABE on file; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Aluminium goes in, a CNC-cut nut comes out, and Accossato's anodising bath adds one of seven colours, blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium or gold. The M29x1 thread is sized to fit the Eldorado's steering stem, and being the open pattern, it leaves the stem's top and its engaged thread on view once torqued, a contrast to the fully closed SC006 built for the same bike.

Where Chrome Meets Colour

An Eldorado owner who likes the bike's bright finishes has more than one way to treat the steering stem nut: gold or silver carry the chrome theme further up the forks, while a colour such as blue or red gives the top yoke a single deliberate accent against all that polish. Reaching the nut itself means steering head work, with torque figures and bearing settings taken from the Eldorado's workshop manual, a job handled by someone used to servicing this generation of Guzzi cruiser. Once it is back in place, the open SA006 is visible from the saddle every time the rider looks down past the screen before setting off, and it stays that way through wet rides and dry ones alike, needing nothing more than the occasional wipe to keep its colour clear.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the SA006 for the Moto Guzzi Eldorado from 2015 to 2017. The same M29x1 thread carries this open nut over to the Moto Guzzi California Audace 1400, the V7 III Special and the V9 Bobber as well. For the Eldorado itself, Accossato also offers the closed SC006.

Road Approval

No ABE or test certificate is available to us for the SA006, so it is sold for racing and competition use.
