DescriptionThe whole story▼
Plenty of CBR600RRs lead a second life as track bikes. The lights come off, the mirrors go, a race fairing replaces the road bodywork, and a bike that once commuted becomes a weekend racer. The Accossato LV019 fits neatly into that kind of conversion. It is a folding brake lever for the CBR600RR of 2007 to 2019, designed for the original radial master cylinder, with adjustable reach and a blade that can fold at its joint with the black base.
Key Features
- Folding brake lever for the Honda CBR600RR, 2007 to 2019
- For the original radial brake master cylinder
- Hinged blade that can fold away on impact
- Reach to the grip adjustable
- RST blade with lightening cut-out, or NRST
- Eight anodised colours, titanium included
- Standard length, CNC-machined aluminium
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato today works from Villastellone, near Turin, in a plant equipped with CNC machining and forging presses. The LV019 is a machined part: its black base and its coloured blade are both cut from aluminium on CNC equipment and then anodised. The base locates on the pivot of the radial master cylinder and holds the reach adjuster, while the blade meets it at the joint that allows folding. You can choose the blade with the RST opening, which takes away a little weight, or the closed NRST version.
Stripped for the Track
Converting a CBR600RR for circuit use changes more than its appearance. Race bodywork is usually lighter and cheaper to replace than the road panels, and many riders add crash protection and remove anything that could break off and end up on the track. The controls deserve the same attention. On a track bike the front brake lever is used harder and hits the ground more often, and in a club race a broken lever can end the weekend. That is where a folding blade makes sense: if the bike goes down, it can fold rather than snap, which reduces the chance of an early trip home. The conversion is also a good moment to rethink the reach. On track you brake with the body tucked and the elbows bent, not sitting upright in traffic, so the setting that suited the road may no longer suit the CBR600RR in its new role. Set it with the bike on paddock stands and yourself in the racing position, then check it again after the first session.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the LV019 for the CBR600RR from 2007 to 2019 and names the original radial master cylinder as its mount. The same code appears in Accossato's list for the CBR1000RR Fireblade, but here it is offered for the CBR600RR, so make sure the product you order names your bike. The left side of the bar is not covered by a folding lever in our range.
Road Approval
As no German ABE is documented, the LV019 is sold as a part for the track.
