DescriptionThe whole story▼
The oldest Street Triple 675s on Accossato's list for this lever are now more than fifteen years old, and plenty of them have covered serious distances. On a bike like that, a brake lever that has been bent, filed or simply worn smooth is common, and replacing it is a good moment to look at the rest of the front brake too. The EDF014 from Accossato replaces the stock brake lever of the Street Triple 675 from 2008 to 2016: machined from aluminium, mounted on the original master cylinder, with an adjustable reach.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Street Triple 675, 2008 to 2016
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Adjuster near the pivot sets the distance to the grip
- Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised
- Blade in seven colours on a black hub
- Standard length approximately 138 mm; short and long in selected colours
- One-piece, rigid blade
- Delivered in an Accossato box
Construction and Material Quality
The EDF014 is shaped from aluminium on CNC machines and anodised. Its black hub holds the pivot and the reach adjuster; its blade carries the colour you choose. The lever is fixed and has no folding joint, so the only movement it makes is the swing around its pivot. The anodised layer is formed in the surface of the aluminium, which keeps the colour from peeling at the edges, even on a naked bike that lives outdoors.
When the Lever Feels Soft
A new lever changes the position and feel at your fingertips, but not the hydraulics behind it. If the front brake of your Street Triple 675 feels soft or spongy, with the lever coming back further towards the grip than it used to, the likely causes lie in the system: air in the line, old fluid that has absorbed moisture, or worn pads. Brake fluid is usually renewed every two years or so, and older bikes have often gone longer. Fitting the EDF014 is therefore a sensible moment to have the fluid changed and the pads checked, so that the new lever starts out on a firm, fresh system. Afterwards, set the reach with the bike upright and your gloves on. Before the first ride, pull the lever several times to be sure the pads are in contact, check that the brake light works, and try the brake at walking pace. On a healthy system, the blade stops firmly well before it reaches your fingers wrapped around the grip.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF014 for the Street Triple 675 from 2008 to 2016, a span that includes the version revised for 2013. The first model year, 2007, does not appear on the list for this brake lever. On the clutch side, Accossato lists the EST333 for the 675 from 2007 to 2016, so for most years both levers can be ordered as a pair.
Road Approval
No German ABE has been documented for the EDF014. It is sold for circuit riding.
