DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Knox Orsa OR4 Textile in Grey is the light-coloured version of Knox's best-selling summer glove. Knox introduced this colour for 2025 with an ice-grey monochrome camo knit on the back of the hand, set against a black Clarino palm and black protective parts.

The OR4 is the successor of the Orsa OR3 and keeps what made it popular: a close fit, direct feel and no break-in period, now with a redesigned BOA cuff, new moulded finger parts and a floating Micro-Lock knuckle. It is CE approved to EN 13594:2015 and offered in XS to 3XL.

Key Features

  • Ice-grey monochrome camo stretch knit combined with High Abrasion Resistant Clarino
  • Breathable single-layer Clarino palm with silicone-printed grip pad
  • Knox Micro-Lock filled plastic floating knuckle
  • Dark reflective print under the knuckle
  • Moulded 3D TPR parts on the fingers
  • Knox Impact Scaphoid Protection System with Micro-Lock
  • Redesigned BOA Fit System at the wrist
  • Wrap-over seamless finger ends, touchscreen enabled

A summer glove with feel

Knox builds the upper from a mix of High Abrasion Resistant Clarino, a synthetic leather alternative that Knox calls strong and sustainable, and the stretch camo knit. On the grey glove that knit is what you see first. It is breathable and moves with the hand, which Knox credits for an outstanding fit.

Underneath, a single layer of black Clarino forms the palm. Knox chose it for maximum feel on the bars, and a silicone-printed Clarino grip pad adds traction on the controls. The fingertips work with touchscreens.

Protection details

Over the main knuckles sits a plastic floating knuckle filled with Knox Micro-Lock, designed for impact absorption and comfort. Below it, a dark reflective print stays subtle in daylight but reflects when headlights catch it. Moulded 3D TPR parts on the fingers add impact and abrasion resistance.

On the palm Knox places its Impact Scaphoid Protection System with Micro-Lock. Knox explains that it eliminates the grab effect when a palm meets the road, reducing the risk of hyperextension and therefore of a broken scaphoid. The glove is CE approved to EN 13594:2015.

BOA Fit System

The wrist cuff and BOA Fit System have been redesigned for the OR4. Turning the dial tightens the glove in fine increments for a dialled-in, secure fit around the wrist; pulling it releases the tension. The wrap-over seamless finger ends avoid seams at the fingertips for comfort on long rides.

Finding your size

Knox sizes the OR4 by palm circumference (around the widest part of the palm and over the knuckles, with a closed fist) and hand length (wrist crease to middle fingertip):

  • XS: palm circumference 200 mm, hand length 179 mm
  • S: 215 mm / 186 mm
  • M: 230 mm / 193 mm
  • L: 245 mm / 200 mm
  • XL: 260 mm / 207 mm
  • XXL (2XL): 275 mm / 214 mm
  • 3XL: 290 mm / 221 mm

If one measurement fits and the other does not, or if you like a looser feel, Knox advises going one size up.

What you should know

The OR4 Textile is a warm-weather glove: it is not waterproof and has no thermal lining. If you want the same fit and BOA closure for wet days, Knox is adding the Orsa Waterproof OR4 for 2027. Knox does not state a CE performance level for the OR4, and the short cuff is meant to sit under the jacket sleeve. A light grey knit also needs a little more care than black to keep its clean look.

Colour

Grey is the brightest of the three OR4 colours. The ice-grey camo gives a lighter, cleaner look and reflects more sunshine than black, which is welcome in summer. The palm and protectors stay black, so grip marks are not an issue, but the grey knit will show dust and insect marks sooner than the black version. It matches grey, white and light textile jackets particularly well, and it is the OR4 that stands out most against a dark jacket sleeve when you signal.
