The MT Atom 2 SV is MT Helmets' new-generation modular (flip-up) helmet — a genuine all-rounder built for riders who cover long distances and want one helmet that does everything. It replaces the best-selling Atom SV and was developed by the same R&D team as the international hit Thunder 4 SV, bringing high-end modular features to a mid-range price. Finished in a contemporary matt grey, it exceeds the demanding ECE 22.06 standard from the ground up.

A Modular Built Like a Flagship

MT built the Atom 2 SV to the same procedures as the Thunder 4 SV, and it shows: meticulously chosen interior fabrics, tidy manufacturing and premium touches like translucent materials in the ventilation system give it a genuinely high-end look and feel. The ventilation itself was developed with fluid-dynamics studies, and the aerodynamic profile with its rear spoiler keeps airflow strong and noise in check.

Visor, Sun Visor and Anti-Fog

The polycarbonate MT-V-35 visor seals against the shell with a rubber-lipped edge and opens via the MT-FSOS system, which includes an automatic cracked-open anti-fog position. A Pinlock DKS512 anti-fog lens is included in the box — a genuine value add. The retractable MT-ESP sun visor drops down for extended, nose-to-brow glare protection and retracts fully when not needed. An optional dark visor is available separately.

An Honest Word on What This Helmet Is

The Atom 2 SV punches above its price, but it is fair to be clear about the trade-offs of a modular. At around 1.7 kg it is heavier than a full-face — the flip-up mechanism and second shell position add weight, as they do on every modular. It is homologated to ECE 22.06 and DOT for road use (P/J dual-homologation lets you legally ride open where marked; confirm the label on your helmet). It is a comfort-and-touring modular, not a lightweight sport lid — which is exactly what most long-distance riders want.

Comfort, Interior and Intercom

Inside, carefully crafted, fully removable and washable fabrics give the Atom 2 SV a plush, supportive fit for long stints. It is intercom-ready with speaker pockets, and MT's EcoConscious design makes the exterior parts detachable for easier maintenance and repair. A chin curtain is included as standard to cut wind and noise.

Pure A2 is a soft, modern matt grey — a design-led alternative to plain black or white.

Finding Your Size

The Atom 2 SV is available in XS to XXL. Measure your head circumference with a soft tape about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, around the widest part of the skull, and compare it with the size chart linked on this page. Between sizes, choose the larger for comfort.
