DescriptionThe whole story▼
Built to the exacting demands of British Superbike and Isle of Man TT competition, the K-Tech DDS Pro shock absorber delivers race-proven rear suspension control for the Ducati Panigale 899 (2013–2016). Every component is engineered for riders who refuse to compromise on safety, precision, or feedback — whether the destination is a closed circuit or a fast road.
Key Features
- Five-way adjustability gives complete, repeatable control over compression, rebound, ByPass Valve (BPV), hydraulic preload, and ride height
- ByPass Valve (BPV) with 16 clicks of adjustment provides fine-grained damping control at low shaft speeds, directly improving tyre feedback and rear-wheel traction
- 32-click compression and 32-click rebound adjustment ranges allow precise tuning to suit any circuit, tyre compound, or rider weight
- Tool-free hydraulic spring preload adjustment speeds up setup changes between sessions without disturbing other settings
- Length adjustment enables geometry optimisation — raise or lower the rear to dial in the chassis balance that suits your riding style
- CNC-machined components throughout ensure dimensional accuracy, long service life, and resistance to the stresses of hard cornering
- DDS technology with integrated potentiometer mounting points makes this shock data-logger ready straight from the box
Race-Developed Damping Technology
K-Tech's DDS (Dynamic Damping System) architecture was not conceived in a laboratory and then handed to a race team — it was shaped lap by lap on the world's most demanding circuits. The ByPass Valve is the centrepiece of the design: at low shaft speeds, where conventional shims struggle to deliver consistent, progressive damping, the BPV takes over and allows the suspension engineer to tune feel and traction independently of the main compression stack. The result is a rear end that communicates with the rider rather than simply absorbing bumps.
The 35 mm RCU body diameter and 12 mm rod are dimensioned for strength while keeping unsprung weight in check. Recommended settings (12 compression clicks, 12 rebound clicks, 8 BPV clicks, 16 mm preload) provide a proven baseline from which any qualified suspension technician can build a bespoke setup.
Fitment and Installation
This unit is engineered specifically for the Ducati Panigale 899 in all model years from 2013 to 2016. Both upper and lower mounts are eye-type, 23 mm wide with a 10 mm bolt diameter, ensuring a direct, rattle-free installation with no adaptors required. K-Tech strongly recommend fitting by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre; correct installation requires specialist tooling and knowledge of chassis geometry. Part number: 255-014-070-010.
