DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ruts catch out good riders as well as beginners. A front wheel that climbs the side of a deep rut on an FC 250 takes the bike with it, and the machine goes down on whichever side the rut throws it. Husqvarna's small motocross four-stroke is light enough to pick up in a second, but by then the left-hand lever has usually taken a knock. Accossato lists the AGS17 for the FC 250 from 2018 to 2021, a silver clutch lever in the original shape.
Key Features
- Original-shape clutch lever for the Husqvarna FC 250
- Listed by Accossato from 2018 to 2021
- Silver
- Left-hand side, hydraulic clutch
- Part of Accossato's original spare parts type range
- Accossato states that its production process raises resistance after a collision
- One lever in the pack
- No approval documents on record; for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's replacement levers are built around a modest promise: the same shape as the part that broke, at a price that does not make a crash expensive. The AGS17 is one of them, an original spare parts type for the FC 250, so the left-hand control returns to what the rider knows. The company reports that its production process makes these levers more resistant after damage or a collision, and it gives the colour for this bike as silver. It offers no figures beyond that, and none are invented here.
When the Bike Slides Away in a Rut
After a fall in a rut the bike often looks worse than it is, and a quick, orderly check keeps the day going. Lift the FC 250, turn the fuel off if it has been lying on its side for a while, and clear the mud out of the controls before touching anything else. Then work from the bars outwards. Both levers should move through their whole travel and spring back without help; anything that feels short or catches near the top is damaged even if it looks straight. Look at the perches: one that has rotated on the bar has done its job, and it should be reset and left at the same modest tightness rather than clamped down hard. Check the bar for a bend by sighting along it from the front. A clutch lever with any bend in it goes in the bin, not back on the bike, because the next fall will finish it at the worst moment. Fit the AGS17 with the pivot cleaned and lightly greased, leave the small amount of free play the manual asks for, and try the clutch in the paddock before the next session.
Fitment and Compatibility
On Accossato's list the AGS17 belongs to the FC 250 from 2018 to 2021. Earlier bikes, from 2014 to 2015, take the AGS14 instead, so there is no risk of confusing the two once the model year is known. The same AGS17 is listed here for the FE 450, the FX 450 and the TC 250 among others. The brake lever of the original type for a 2018 to 2021 FC 250 is the AGD14, and Accossato's CNC clutch levers for the model are the C7283 and the C7284.
Road Approval
The AGS17 carries no German ABE and no test mark, because approval documents for it are not in our possession, and it is sold for racing and competition.
