DescriptionThe whole story▼
The ZX-10RR is the version of Kawasaki's superbike built as the basis for racing machines, produced in limited numbers for riders who intend to strip it and rebuild it for competition. Some of the 2017 and 2018 bikes have long since lost their lights and number plates and now travel only in race vans. A conversion like that is a long list of small jobs, and the filler cap belongs on it. For the ZX-10RR of 2017 and 2018, Accossato lists the FC113, a quick-release tank cap milled from aluminium, with the pin on its pawl in one of six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Kawasaki ZX-10RR, 2017 and 2018
- CNC-machined from aluminium, no other material in the body
- Quick-closing pawl for quick fills in the paddock
- Pin colour: blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Pawl can be bought separately
- New design, robust and durable as Accossato states
- No German ABE documented; for racing and track days
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's FC113 is made wholly from aluminium on CNC machines, and the company describes it as robust and durable. The design is its own and new. For a race bike the important part is the quick-closing pawl, which opens and closes the ZX-10RR's filler in a single movement and keeps refuelling short between races. You pick the pin colour at the time of ordering. Pawls are also sold on their own, a detail that matters on a bike likely to fall at some point in its racing life.
Turning an RR into a Race Bike
Converting a ZX-10RR for racing usually starts with what comes off: lights, indicators, mirrors, number plate and often the road bodywork, replaced by race panels. Then come the jobs that technical inspectors look for. Oil drain and filler plugs are commonly secured with lockwire, a catch tank collects anything the engine breather pushes out, and the bike must not drip anything onto the circuit. The fuel cap belongs to this last group. Whatever cap you use has to close reliably and stay closed over bumps and under hard braking. Fit the FC113 with a cold engine and a tank that is not brim-full, clean the surface the cap seals against, and look for weeping after the first fill. Then add the cap to your pre-race list, next to wheel spindles and brake lines. Read the technical rules of your series for anything they say about fuel systems, because championships differ in the details.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list names the ZX-10RR of 2017 and 2018 with the FC113, and those are the two years this product covers. For the RR of 2021 to 2024 the list gives a different cap, the FC126. The FC113 is also catalogued with us for the Ninja H2R and the Ninja H2 SX. Confirm the year of your RR against the list, or ask us.
Road Approval
The FC113 is not covered by a German ABE or a documented parts certificate, so it is a competition and track-day part. If your ZX-10RR is still road-registered, its original cap, normally key-operated, is the one to use on public roads.
