Replaceable toe sliders, reinforced heel cups and shin plates absorb repeated asphalt contact without forcing you to retire the whole boot.

When choosing, check certification to the EN 13634 standard and consider how each model balances protection against everyday usability: dedicated race boots prioritise stiffness and abrasion resistance, while sportier road designs from the same manufacturers trade some rigidity for walking comfort and weather protection. Fit is decisive — a boot should lock the heel in place without pressure points, because a stiff racing construction will give very little over time.
