DescriptionThe whole story▼
Midday glare off pale tarmac, a coast road glittering in the sun, snow fields lining an alpine pass: this is the territory of the KASS0VS0, the dark tinted visor for the Suomy Stellar 2. Use it in daylight and only in daylight. As dusk arrives, inside tunnels, at night or in poor visibility a dark shield hides far too much, so switch back to a clear one. Keep in mind that the Stellar 2 already has an internal sun visor; a dark outer shield is for riders who want deeper shade on very bright days, or simply like the darker look.
Built for Strong Sun
The heavier tint is aimed squarely at high summer and southern latitudes, where even a lowered inner visor can feel like too little. With the dark shield closed and the internal sun visor down as well, you get the most shade the Stellar 2 can offer. Riders who prefer a stealthy appearance also like how a dark shield blends with black or matt paint, giving the helmet a more uniform face from the outside. Note that the shade comes from the tint alone; there is no mirror layer on this version.
Practical Points for Summer Tours
Plan around the light. A dark shield is the wrong tool for the last hour of the day, so pack the clear visor in a soft bag and swap before evening. The Stellar 2 shield is designed to come off and go back on easily, which makes a roadside change a short stop rather than a project.
Key Features

Limits You Should Know
Fitment is Stellar 2 only. The original Stellar uses another shield and is not compatible. You will not find a Pinlock insert with this part: the Pinlock 120 MaxVision comes with the helmet, not with replacement visors. The shield accepts tear-offs, though you buy those separately. Laws on tinted visors are not the same everywhere, so check the rules for each country on your route.
About the Optical Rating
Optical class 1, as declared by Suomy, is the tighter grade for distortion, so the dark tint does not come at the cost of a warped view.
