DescriptionThe whole story▼

Red against fluorescent yellow is the highest-alarm colour pairing in common use — it is what hazard signage is built from — and this is the only finish here that puts both on one shell.

A carbon shell in six sizes

Shell: 6K woven carbon, structural, six sizes. Liner: multi-density EPS with ducted channels. Approval: ECE 22.06. Weight: about 1400 g.

🔵 That is the whole structural specification, and the six-shell construction is the part that is genuinely unusual.

No rating of its own — and what does transfer from the composite

🟢 The part of the independent record that does describe this helmet is worth having: Certimoov found the FF811 platform compact, praised the field of vision, the equipment level, the road performance and the price.

🔵 It also criticised getting the helmet on and the sun visor mechanism — both of which are shared with this version, and both of which appear further down this page.

Airflow that reaches your head

Chin intake, forehead intake, ducts through the liner, rear exit. A complete through-flow path, executed properly, and given a name by LS2 — Dynamic Flow-Through.

🔵 No independent test of its performance on this shell has been published.

About the Tantic red and hi-vis yellow graphic

The two colours are not redundant; they cover different failures. Fluorescent yellow works by absorbing ultraviolet and re-emitting it as visible light, which is why it holds up in overcast and dusk when there is plenty of ultraviolet and little contrast. Red works by saturation against the greys and greens of an ordinary road scene, and it is the colour every driver has been trained since childhood to read as a warning. Together they produce something the eye treats as a signal rather than as an object, which is exactly the intent behind every hazard marking you have ever passed. 🔵 Two practical notes. Red is the most UV-sensitive pigment used on helmets and fluorescent yellow fades under sustained ultraviolet as well, so this is the finish that most rewards being stored out of direct sun. And a printed graphic of this kind cannot be touched in after a deep scratch. Of the eleven finishes here, this and the two Savage hi-vis and Grid hi-vis options are the three we would recommend specifically on safety grounds. This is the most distinctive of them and the only one that pairs the fluorescent pigment with a second warning colour rather than with carbon or grey.

Three visors, one helmet

🟢 Sunset on a westbound road is the case that settles the argument for an internal shield, and it is the one a fixed tint handles worst — half an hour later it is dark and you are still behind it.

🔵 This helmet gives you both: a drop-down shield and a complete tinted visor in the box.

Holding on, and letting go

🟢 The hardware specification here is complete: reinforced strap, metal micrometric fastener, emergency release tabs, multi-density EPS, and a carbon shell in six sizes.

🔵 What it does not have is an independent impact result of its own.

The part you actually touch

🔵 Long-run comfort is left unrated on this page. No independent test of the carbon version publishes it, and the equipment list is not a measured result.

What is documented: X-Static silver treatment, laser-cut edges, breathable, hypoallergenic, fully removable.

Carbon or composite — which Vector II to buy

🟢 For a rider who wants the lightest well-fitting full-face LS2 makes and does not need a published crash rating to justify it, this is the helmet.

🔵 For a rider who does want that rating, the composite Vector II is 100 € cheaper and carries four SHARP stars.

Care and replacement parts

🔵 The maintenance routine is short: wash the shell with warm water and a soft cloth, wash the lining in cool water a few times a season, never dry-wipe a visor.

Do those three and the only things that will end this helmet are age and impact.

Specification

  • Model — LS2 FF811 Vector II Carbon
  • Part number — 168115632
  • Colour — Tantic — Red and hi-vis yellow over carbon
  • Homologation — ECE 22.06
  • 🔴 Safety rating — none. SHARP's „LS2 Vector 2" 4 stars (02/2025) records composite fibre, 1.5 kg — the HPFC version, not this carbon at 1400 g. Not carried over
  • 🟢 What does transfer — Certimoov rated the FF811 platform 3.5/5 on a fibreglass Splitter. Compactness and field of vision transfer (shared geometry); impact scores do not. 🔵 criticised: getting the helmet on, and the sun visor mechanism
  • Shell — 6K woven carbon, structural — not a carbon-look wrap; six shell sizes (2XS–XS / S / M / L / XL / 2XL–3XL–4XL)
  • Impact liner — multi-density EPS with ventilation ducts moulded through the foam
  • Weight — approx. 1400 g (±50 g). 🔵 the composite Vector II is 1500 g — carbon saves 100 g for about 100 € more
  • Sizes — XXS to 4XL (nine sizes). Shell prepared for LS2's Bluetooth unit; no system supplied
  • Visor — wide, hardcoated, UV-protected, quick-change
  • Sun visor — integrated drop-down shield, stowing fully inside the shell. 🔵 Certimoov called the mechanism improvable
  • 🟢 Included — Pinlock® 120 XLT MaxVision™, a complete tinted visor, a carrying backpack and reflective stickers
  • 🔴 Tinted visor — daylight only — most European jurisdictions bar tinted visors at night
  • Ventilation — Dynamic Flow-Through — chin and forehead intakes, ducts in the EPS, rear exit. 🔵 left unrated: nothing measured on the carbon version
  • 🔴 Wind noise — left unrated — no independent measurement is published for this model
  • Retention — reinforced strap, micrometric metal fastener, emergency-release tabs for the cheek pads
  • Interior — breathable, hypoallergenic, X-Static® silver, laser-cut, removable. 🔵 the composite Vector II is not listed with X-Static
  • 🔴 FIM homologation — none — a road helmet, not eligible for FIM-sanctioned competition
  • Serviceability — both visors, sun visor, Pinlock insert, cheek pads (several thicknesses), lining and vent covers
  • Replacement guidance — after about five years, and immediately after any impact — carbon hides a crushed liner
