DescriptionThe whole story▼
The R1R is KYT's racing helmet, and its visor is built to race standards too. YAR10VT0 is the clear replacement shield for it, the same type the helmet is delivered with. On track, a scratched or pitted visor is more than cosmetic, so a fresh one belongs in every race kit. Being untinted, it suits every condition, from morning sessions to rain, tunnels on the road and night riding.
A racing visor system
The R1R visor moves on a rototranslation mechanism: as it opens, it travels in a combined rotating and sliding path rather than a simple pivot. It is held closed by a metal racing lock, a detail you find on track-focused helmets, and it can be changed without tools between sessions. This replacement is made for that system, so it locks with the same closure as the visor the helmet came with. Because the mechanism and lock stay on the helmet, the shield itself is the only part that needs renewing when it wears.
Key Features
- Clear racing visor for all light conditions
- Made for the R1R rototranslation mechanism
- Closed by the R1R's metal racing lock
- Tool-free visor change
- Original KYT replacement part
Why a spare belongs in the pit box
On a race weekend, debris from the bike ahead, rubber pick-up and stone chips can mark a shield within a few sessions, and a mark in your line of sight is a distraction at every braking point. With a tool-free change, a fresh clear visor goes on in the time it takes to refuel. Road riders benefit in the same way: a clean shield makes night riding and rain much less tiring.
The helmet it belongs to
The KYT R1R uses a tricomposite shell of carbon, aramid and glass fibre, is homologated to ECE 22.06 and weighs around 1,450 g in size M. It ships with a clear visor and a Pinlock. We stock 10 R1R helmets in different graphics.
What is and is not included
You receive one clear visor. The Pinlock that comes with the R1R helmet is not part of this item. The shield fits the KYT R1R only and will not mount on the R2R or TT-Revo. If you ride the R1R on the road as well as on track, the clear shield is the one to keep fitted by default. For bright days we also carry six more R1R visors: light tinted, dark tinted and Iridium Blue, Gold, Rainbow and Silver.
