DescriptionThe whole story▼

The MT-07's CP2 twin has a 270-degree crank, which gives it the uneven pulse riders like and a slightly lumpy delivery right at the bottom of the rev range. Managing that pulse at walking pace is a clutch job, not a throttle one.

Key Features

  • CNC-machined from solid aluminium, black anodised
  • Milled Gilles face for a secure gloved grip
  • Bolts to the original master cylinder without adapters
  • Reach adjustable through 35 positions, set by hand
  • Central adjuster wheel, reachable from the riding position
  • Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91203

Machined and Treated

Solid aluminium, bored and phosphated at the pivot, anodised black. Free of play from new, which on a bike sold in these numbers to riders of every experience level matters more than any performance claim.

The 270-Degree Pulse at Low Speed

An uneven firing interval gives real feel at very low revs but asks for a more deliberate hand than a smooth twin would. Holding the friction point steadily through a slow U-turn is far easier when the blade is within the fingers' natural reach.

A Bike Many People Learn On

The MT-07 is a first big bike for a great many riders. A lever that can be brought in removes one obstacle to building clutch control, which is the skill that makes everything else at low speed possible.

Road Approval

Carries ABE No. KBA 91203 for use on German public roads. Print it, keep it with the registration documents, and leave the engineered break point in the blade exactly as supplied.

Scope of Delivery

A single clutch lever, black anodised. The actuator for the clutch switch stays with your old lever and has to be moved across, so set aside a few minutes for that and confirm the interlock before riding.
