DescriptionThe whole story▼
Akrapovic names another company's part number in its own product description, which is unusual enough to be the reason this page exists. This bracket is mandatory for mounting three Akrapovic systems on an S 1000 RR fitted with the racing subframe that Alpha Racing produces and distributes under code 46 DA0 0202.
Key Features
- Mandatory for bikes with the Alpha Racing subframe 46 DA0 0202
- Aluminium construction
- For the Evolution Line S-B10E9-APLT, Racing Line S-B10R4-APLT and Slip-On Line S-B10SO10-ZC
- Covers the S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR from 2019
- Not needed on a motorcycle with the standard subframe
A Very Specific Motorcycle
This is not a part for a road bike. An Alpha Racing subframe is a competition component — lighter than BMW's, built to carry a race seat unit, and fitted to machines prepared for endurance and superstock racing.
If your S 1000 RR has the standard subframe, you do not need this bracket and the Akrapovic system will mount without it. If it has the Alpha Racing one, no Akrapovic exhaust will mount without it.
Three Systems Named
Akrapovic lists exactly which exhausts this bracket serves: the Evolution Line (Titanium) S-B10E9-APLT, the Racing Line (Titanium) S-B10R4-APLT and the Slip-On Line (Carbon) S-B10SO10-ZC.
All three are competition systems, which fits the context. A bike with a race subframe is not a bike that keeps a type-approved exhaust.
Why the Subframe Changes Everything
The silencer on an S 1000 RR hangs from the subframe. Replace that subframe with one of a different shape and every mounting point behind the seat moves, including the exhaust hanger.
Akrapovic could have left owners to fabricate an adapter. Instead it makes one and states its part number alongside Alpha Racing's, which saves a race team an evening of measuring.
Aluminium
Machined aluminium rather than carbon. On a race machine that is the sensible material: it can be inspected after a crash, straightened or discarded on a clear judgement, and replaced cheaply between sessions.
Check Before You Order
Two things. That the subframe is genuinely the Alpha Racing 46 DA0 0202 rather than another aftermarket item, and which of the three Akrapovic systems the motorcycle wears. Neither is something to assume on a bike bought secondhand from a race paddock.
The Word Is Mandatory
Akrapovic does not describe this bracket as recommended or optional in that configuration. On a bike with the Alpha Racing subframe it is the only way the exhaust attaches, which puts it in the same class as the fitting kits elsewhere in this range: a cheap part that decides whether an expensive one can be used at all.
Eight Model Years
The bracket covers the S 1000 RR from the 2019 ShiftCam redesign and the M 1000 RR that followed. BMW kept the subframe mounting consistent across the range, which is why one bracket serves both.
Road Approval
Not applicable. A bracket carries no approval, and in any case a motorcycle with a race subframe and one of these three exhausts is a competition machine.
