DescriptionThe whole story▼

The KTM 125 Duke is the first real motorcycle for many sixteen-year-olds, a light naked single that can be ridden on an A1 licence and shares the sharp looks of its bigger brothers. On a kart circuit or a short track, a 125 is ridden in a way no big bike ever is: throttle wide open almost everywhere and corner speed carried at all costs. The cap for it on Accossato's list is the FC127, given for the 125 Duke of 2021: machined entirely from aluminium, with a quick-closing pawl whose pin comes in six colours.

Key Features

  • Quick-release fuel tank cap for the KTM 125 Duke, model year 2021
  • Entirely CNC-machined aluminium
  • Quick-closing pawl for fast opening and closing
  • Pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
  • Pawl available separately as a spare
  • New design from Accossato
  • No German ABE on record; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

The FC127 is machined on CNC equipment from aluminium, and the whole body is made of it; Accossato says that makes the cap robust and durable. Accossato's design for it is new. A quick-closing pawl opens and closes the tank of the 125 Duke in a moment, and the pin on the pawl comes in six colours, although orange is not among them, so black or silver are the natural partners for KTM orange. If the pawl is damaged, Accossato supplies a single replacement.

Flat Out All the Way Round

Riding a small bike fast teaches patience and precision, and it uses fuel in a way that surprises riders who know the 125 Duke only from the road. On a short circuit the throttle is held wide open for most of the lap, the engine lives near the top of its rev range, and consumption rises well above what the same tank gives on the way to school or work. Riders who assume that a small bike needs no top-up during the day are the ones pushing it back to the paddock. Check the level at every break, top up at lunch at the latest, and do it with the engine off, the bike upright and a small can with a spout. Young riders should learn the routine early: switch off, open the pawl, pour, close, check by hand, wipe. It takes a minute, and it is the same routine they will use on every bigger bike that follows.

Fitment and Compatibility

In Accossato's application list, the FC127 appears for the Duke 125 of 2021 only, and that is the year this product covers. For other model years of the 125 Duke, check the list or ask us before ordering. We list the same cap for the 200 Duke, the 390 Duke and the RC 125.

Road Approval

No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC127, so we supply it for the circuit. The 125 Duke's standard cap normally locks with the ignition key, and on the road it stays fitted.
