DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Aprilia Tuono 660 brought the Tuono idea to the middleweight class in 2021: the RS 660's twin in a sportier naked with a small fairing and higher bars. It suits riders who enjoy circuit days without wanting a full race replica, and many of them arrive at the track with the bike on a trailer and the fuel in cans. How that fuel gets from can to tank is a small but real part of the day. Accossato's FC101 speeds it up: a quick-release fuel tank cap for the Tuono 660 of 2021 to 2025, milled from aluminium, with a coloured pawl.

Key Features

  • Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Aprilia Tuono 660, 2021 to 2025
  • Standard and Factory versions on Accossato's application list
  • Machined entirely from aluminium on CNC machines
  • Quick-closing pawl for fast refuelling from a can
  • Pin in one of six colours
  • Replacement pawl available separately
  • No German ABE documented; intended for closed circuits

Construction and Material Quality

Milled on CNC machines out of aluminium, the FC101 is described by Accossato as robust and durable, and it carries a new design. Its closure is a quick-closing pawl that gives quick access to the Tuono 660's tank and shuts it again just as quickly. That pawl takes the colour, in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold. It is also available separately, so damage to it does not write off the cap.

Fuel Arrives in a Can

Some circuits sell fuel in the paddock, but many do not, or only at certain times. So the usual plan is to fill approved jerry cans at the last petrol station before the circuit. Use containers made for fuel, close them tightly and strap them upright in the van or trailer, away from anything hot. In the paddock the cans stay in the shade and away from anyone smoking. When the Tuono 660 needs fuel, switch the engine off, put the bike on its stand, open the FC101 with its pawl and pour steadily through a clean funnel or spout. Stop before the fuel reaches the neck, close the cap, check that it is properly shut and wipe away any drips, both for the sake of the paint and because spilled fuel near a hot engine is a risk nobody needs.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's list names the Tuono 660 with ABS from 2021 to 2023 and the Tuono 660 Factory in two entries, 2022 to 2024 with ABS and 2025. The FC101 serves all of them. Inter-Pace also lists it for the RS 660 and the RS 457, as well as for the KTM 690 Duke. Check your bike against the application list before ordering.

Road Approval

For the FC101 there is no German ABE and no parts certificate in the documents; we sell it for track use. The Tuono 660's own filler cap usually locks with the ignition key, and you should not swap it for road riding.

Scope of Delivery

One FC101 fuel tank cap in aluminium with the pawl colour you choose. The pawl is also sold separately.
