DescriptionThe whole story▼
The second matte Shaytan 2 colourway shares the HE8129 base article number with the Black Blue Purple version above but carries a different colour code (KAR rather than KBV) and a different palette: Black Anthracite Red per the supplier's own naming, warmer in tone than its blue-purple sibling. Like every un-photographed decor in this line, the graphic layout cannot be independently confirmed, though the Shaytan 2 name ties it to the same angular graphic family. As the warmer-toned of the two Shaytan 2 Mat options, this red-anthracite colourway follows the same likely naming pattern as its sibling — an accent rather than a dominant base tone — though, again, this cannot be confirmed without a product photograph.
Finish
This colourway is recorded as matte, matching the other Shaytan 2 Mat decor rather than the glossy Black Blue Yellow version. The red-and-anthracite palette suggested by the supplier's naming has not been confirmed against a photograph, and no further layout detail is invented here in its absence. As with its HE8129 sibling, the matte finish itself is confirmed directly from the price list, independent of the still-unconfirmed graphic layout discussed above.
About this Shaytan 2 colourway
This red-and-anthracite colourway is the second of two matte Shaytan 2 options in this line, both succeeding Shark's now-discontinued original Shaytan decor (articles HE8114/HE8115, absent from the current 2027 rangebook pages), distinguished from its blue-and-purple sibling by colour code rather than graphic design.
ECE 22.06, the certificate behind this red Shaytan 2 Mat
This red-and-anthracite Shaytan 2 Mat colourway meets ECE 22.06, mandatory across the EU since January 2024 for newly homologated helmets and a substantially tougher benchmark than the 22.05 standard it replaced: eighteen impact points instead of five, several speeds instead of one, an oblique-impact test against a rough anvil that twists rather than just compresses the shell, and — for the first time — a scored Brain Injury Criterion for rotational forces. The assembled helmet, Pinlock fitted, is what Shark submits for testing.
Shell material, this red Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
This red-and-anthracite Shaytan 2 Mat shares the same multiaxial composite fibre shell as the rest of the line, cross-laid glass fibre rather than a carbon weave. Against the pricier Spartan RS Carbon, the certification, Double-D closure, multi-density EPS and VZ300 visor are all the same; the carbon shell's real advantage is a lighter first-size weight figure and a different surface texture under the coat, not a safety difference.
Neck load, this red Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
Shark's figure for this red-and-anthracite Shaytan 2 Mat is 1500 g at the smallest shell size, with an independent test unit for the line recording 1530 g. Both are ordinary numbers for a fibre full-face helmet. The more useful way to think about either figure is as a load the neck carries dynamically across the whole ride, through every brake and lean, rather than a static spec compared in isolation.
Ventilation, this red Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
Like every other decor in this line, this helmet draws air through a chin-bar intake and a forehead intake, exhausted via a permanently open rear-spoiler vent. Reviewers find the sliders glove-friendly but note the absence of detent clicks for fine control. The result keeps the visor reasonably clear in daily conditions without being a stand-out strength.
Sun visor and outer visor, this red Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
A drop-down sun visor gives near-complete face coverage with distinct detente positions, a point independent reviewers rate positively. The outer visor is Shark's VZ300 family: optical class 1, 2.8 mm to 2.2 mm variable thickness, four anchor points, central grip-and-lock, anti-scratch coating, and a clear Pinlock 120 insert fitted from the factory.
Visor handling, this red Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
The four-point tool-free visor lock fitted across this whole range applies here too, so switching to a spare or tinted visor is quick rather than needing a dealer. Anti-scratch coating ships as standard equipment on every Spartan RS decor.
Comms compatibility, this red Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
As across the whole line, the cheek-pad cavity in this shell is sized for Shark's Sharktooth intercom or a SENA For SHARK unit, fitting flush rather than needing an external bracket. No comms unit is included in the box.
Fit, this red Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
Two shell sizes, not three, span the XS-to-XXL range — a shortfall reviewers name consistently for this helmet family. In exchange, the internal fit reads as distinctly round, called out as a good match for heads that find Shoei or Arai too narrow, with cheek pads that swap independently for a closer or looser feel.
Wind noise, this red Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
Shark gives no decibel figure for this or any Spartan RS decor. One reviewer found the noise appropriate and unremarkable at legal speeds; another flagged, without measuring it, a possible increase in motorway wind noise due to the missing tight neck roll of the older Spartan GT. Both accounts are reported as given, not merged.
Spare parts, this red Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
A scratched or fogged visor on this decor is a replacement part through Shark's standing Spartan RS spare-visor listing. Because the VZ300 family is shared with the Spartan RS Carbon and the Spartan GT Pro Carbon, tint and clear-visor stock stays broader than it would for a helmet-specific visor design.
Where this sits in Shark's own range
This red Shaytan 2 Mat colourway is also 389.99 EUR. Set against Shark's own 2027 range:
| Line | UVP range | Shell |
|---|---|---|
| Skwal i3 | 319.99 - 399.99 EUR | Thermoplastic, LED brake light |
| OXO | 349.99 - 459.99 EUR | Thermoplastic modular |
| Spartan RS (this decor: 389.99 EUR) | 359.99 - 389.99 EUR | Multiaxial composite fibre |
| Spartan RS Carbon | 429.99 - 529.99 EUR | Carbon, same VZ300 visor family |
| Spartan GT Pro Carbon | 549.99 - 629.99 EUR | Carbon, also shares the VZ300 visor |
Limitations, honestly
Like its HE8129 sibling above, this colourway has no manufacturer photograph yet, so Black Anthracite Red is the supplier's own description rather than a verified fact — worth knowing before ordering. It is one of five un-photographed decors in this line; six of the eleven Spartan RS colourways documented here do have manufacturer images to check against. The usual two-shell sizing and unmeasured wind noise apply unchanged. As with the other four un-photographed decors in this line, ordering this specific colour code means relying on the Black Anthracite Red name alone rather than a confirming image — worth weighing against the six decors here that do have photography.
